How is this guy getting so much post engagement?

I don't really understand FB marketing, but I have a local business client for whom I am running online ad campaigns. This is a local business that sells only one kind of product (bed mattresses).

We know of a competitor who is killing it on Facebook, but I don't think the guy is even using any ads (although he might be). He just has a pinned post on his business page that always gets hundreds of comments and shares. I think he deletes the post after a week or so and then makes a new one and starts the process over again.

Does anyone know what this guy could be doing to get so much engagement? We made a similar kind of post and boosted it to our city, but the response was terrible and we got no phone calls. But we know this competitor is getting 10+ calls a day from this.

Sorry for such a vague explanation but any help is appreciated. I can share the competitor's FB page by PM if it would help you figure out what he's actually doing.

He's either boosting his post or he is buying shout outs on other peoples (influencers) pages etc. I have over 30 pages and if i create a new page and share a post to the other 30 pages the post on the new page will get loads of engagement and you as someone just looking in won't know that all that engagement came from re-shares.

Im having the same issues and I just started 1 campaign on FB. Getting alot of leads on this FB ad..they are clicking on the "action button" sign up now which goes to our landing page but no one is filling it out? Any help or suggestions? Thanks.

Well that could be a problem with your sign up form, or it just doesn't convert well enough. Every click won't convert anyway, so you just have to get enough traffic and use split testing to be able to make improvements.

Thanks for the feedback. Im comparing with a different photo now with same words, will try different words as well. Geez these people dont even want to sign up for a free lecture that comes with a free book?! Can I pm you so maybe you can give me a suggestion. This landing page is a client of mine that Im working on it.

I think this will be the reason. I've seen many pages and groups crosspost. I think there's even a feature in Facebook that let's you do it automatically now.
