Why Twitter decreases my fans number !

Hello everyone,
I have a twitter account with around 20K followers, recently I noticed that the number of fans has been decreased to 19.8, then 19.6, and now 19.5

I was wondering if twitter started to follow the same facebook strategy of removing the fans who do not interact with your page? or these are just scammed accounts that are being closed. Does any one noticed that or anyone has an answer for this?

I am using twtdominator to add followers every day and the software is more than awesome, the CS is great and the service that was provided from Deepak deserves to be mentioned, yet they don't have an answer why this happened!

Simple: those accounts are getting disabled for TOS violation.

Twitter has a very noticeable suspension pattern since half a year now, where they suspend plenty of accounts at once in every 2 weeks almost like clockwork, happens on every 2nd Wednesday (Tuesday for some). For quite some time there were no suspensions outside these waves unless you did something really stupid. In the past one or two months as an addition to these bi-weekly suspension waves, there are regular suspensions left and right outside the waves too following no pattern whatsoever.

I'd say what you experience is simply that they suspend more accounts than before.

Twitter doesn't remove inactive accounts though, just the ones which violate the TOS in any way.

Interesting.

I was looking into this more closely and it turned out they do remove inactive accounts, but - there's always a but lol - only after 6 months of inactivity. Not 1 month, that would be a bit too rushed.

If you login just once in 6 months, you can prevent that. I've never had accounts disabled because of inactivity, that's why this didn't occur to me until now. On the other hand i definitely have accounts, where i haven't logged in or tweeted in the last 6 months and they're still alive and kicking. I guess this really only applies to blank accounts with no tweets or other account activity.

Hell there are plenty of people who struggle to get a hold of usernames of inactive accounts despite those accs are inactive for years and don't have any tweets, followers etc.

It appears, this inactive account removal policy is just as inconsistent as the suspensions lately.

Well it wasn't a theory. Just going by what I see on the website I use to unfollow users who don't follow back, no theory there

If the followers are real it won't be possible. I think It may happen only if your followers are fake and inactive.
