No I am not although I'm sure that'd simplify the processing of orders. I'm not sure if you noticed or not but I'm not selling on or from Amazon. I simply took products from the supplier and listed them on my "own" site at a higher price. All of the payments are made directly to me and I manually process each order.

All customers are also provided with a tracking # and I always send follow-up emails to ensure they were satisfied with their order and the product(s) they received.

Oh seriously? That's a curveball, I assumed it was Amazon how do you get brand new computer products suppliers? I'm thinking about doin soemthing similar except take the products directly from Amazon

Yes my approach is a bit unique compared to others as I'm literally reselling products from a distributor. My reasoning behind using my "own" website is because if it ended up being successful (Which at this point I've determined that it is), it would become an asset (Someone else posted that here too) which is something I wanted.

However, you can of course choose any path you'd like if you use this method. Most people simply setup an Amazon affiliate site but the commission's they offer were too low to motivate me to go through the work of driving traffic and ranking the site.

Don't take that the wrong way though, there are many people who are successful with this approach. If you choose the right niche and keywords, you can earn good money by being an Amazon affiliate but product/niche/keyword research is vitally important to making sales.

I actually found my distributor by simply searching Google for wholesalers in my niche. For example, if you're planning on selling tv's, you can search "TV Wholesalers" or something similar to that. It didn't take me long to find one especially considering the requirements that had to be met on my end as far as packaging and what not.

It would be appreciated. I think that the key besides finding the correct product IS the source. You can have the best designed site and drive mad traffic to it, but if you don't have a supplier that you can depend on, then you are in trouble. People will complain if the product takes too long to get to them or worse, if the product is not what you or the buyer thought it was going to be.

You're right, the source needs to be 110% reliable, if not, then your entire business model is going to be heading down hill. An unreliable source will lead to charge backs, non-shipped items and unhappy customers (Understandably so). I avoided these hassles by researching my supplier, checking their reviews, the length of time they've been in business and their shipping terms.

Thankfully, they met my criteria and in regards to shipping (Which is the most important part of this business model), all orders include a tracking # and depending on the amount of the order, signature confirmation.

OP, how do you manage Paypal fees? I mean if the customer pays you 200$, you get less. You have already included this in your price? Thanks. And also, how much followers do you have now? Do you also have a hold on your Paypal when receiving the payments?

My mark-up on each item is usually around 25%-30%, I only pay PayPal 2.9% + $0.30 per payment that I accept. Do the math and you'll see that PayPal fees are the least of my worries. When it comes down to these kinds of expenses, it's just the cost of doing business. My PayPal is a legitimate aged account so I no longer have 21 day holds (Or any holds at all for that matter) so 100% of my funds are available immediately upon receiving payments.

Current Follower Count: Around 9,800 (All 100% Real & Active), around 400+ likes per picture.

Revenue from March 8th - March 17th - $844.92 (Around $265 Profit)

For example, a brand new laptop from the supplier at a cost of $249.99 would be listed on my site for $289.99 (And I charge a flat fee on my website of $9.99 for shipping & the shipping from the supplier is free.

Sorry, I'm a little confused, if you aren't an affiliate, and you obviously aren't stocking the products, how are you able to sell to these buyers? What's the process behind the scenes?

I love the idea, I'm just not sure I get it.

I'm sure this kind of method has been shared here in the past, these results are not ingenious nor difficult to achieve. Success with this particular method comes down to simply finding a product/niche to target and then gaining targeted followers.

So, simply put, I registered an InstaGram page about a month ago but only started using the page about a week ago... I chose to start a page centered around "Computers for Sale" and "PC Parts & Hardware".

I built a website and manually listed around 250 random computers and hardware parts, added a nice logo and layout and used a branded domain that's an exact match to my InstaGram username.

Keep in mind that my website is NOT an affiliate site, by this I mean that I directly took products from another site and listed them at a higher price on my site. For example, a brand new laptop from the supplier at a cost of $249.99 would be listed on my site for $289.99 (And I charge a flat fee on my website of $9.99 for shipping & the shipping from the supplier is free).

Over the past week, I found 10 InstaGram pages that are PC related that have a lot of followers/likes and I began to follow all of the users who liked the uploads on these pages. I only followed users who liked photos that were uploaded within the last 12 hours so I know those I were following were active.

Obviously, the website URL is in my InstaGram bio so users can find the site and make a purchase.

Today I made two sales on the site which now puts me at a total of 4 sales for the week.

Like I said, this isn't a genius method or anything but it is something that "works" and I think that's what's most important here... A workable method that doesn't require too much of an investment.

It's worth noting here that I didn't use any software or automation tools, I actually took the time to do this manually as when I do start a project, I want it to be a long term source of revenue (If it's going to be successful).

One quick tip that I'll throw in for those who are going to try this method, before following other people in hopes of them following back, I'd make sure to have at least 20 quality posts on your page with helpful comments.

If I upload a picture of a hard drive, I don't just say "Go shop now at the link in my bio", I'll say something to the effect of "Go check out this incredibly priced 4TB External Hard Drive at a price that will fit any budget. Shipping is only $9.99 on all items with 2 hour response email support. Tracking numbers are provided on all orders".

You can also go in to further detail about the product on the post such as specifications and what not, this will help show that you're educated about the products you sell and will help you to seem more reputable to your followers (Or should I say potential buyers).

I was doing all of the work manually, I eventually started using a bot but only for unfollowing members. However, I did end up receiving a shoutout on a large page which helped to boost my follower count. This was a shoutout that I did not paid for, they liked what I posted and therefore gave me a mentioned and reposted one of my uploads.

I'd say that about 60% of my products are name brand, the remaining are generic. Yes I have had sales I'll upload the revenue here in a bit.

As I mentioned previously in my thread, I directly took products from another site and relisted them at a higher price. I accept the payments and place the order with the distributor who ships the product(s) to the customer. Read through the thread and you'll see where I posted about how I handle the actual shipment.

I actually didn't use InstaGram for niche selection. I chose a niche based around the average product price so I can make more per sale. Since a lot of products in the "Electronics" niche are a bit expensive, I decided to go with the niche that I did.

In regards to your PayPal questions, I'm not an expert when it comes to that. There's a member on here by the name of "SecondEye" that would be better able to assist you when it comes to that. In regards to an investment, you'll need at least $15-$20 to register a domain name and to get a website up with hosting. If you do this method properly, you should be able to recoup you investment back within a week.

How much time I spend per day really depends on the number of orders received (If any). I spend about 5 minutes per day posting a couple of images to the InstaGram page. I spend about 15 minutes per order that is placed on the site.

Since my last update on this thread, the site has made over $100 in profit. I'm really beginning to see some consistency which is turning in to some pretty decent passive income. Will post screenshots tomorrow.
