Been meaning to ask this for a while

I know a lot of you guys are married. I've got a few questions for you.

Were you super nervous when you asked your would-be wife on your very first date?

Or maybe she asked you out. Were you surprised that she did? Were you nervous when you went?

I'm actually curious about this. Not gonna troll. Just want to see something nice going on in the lounge today.

Oh, if you've got a husband, feel free to answer the questions. This isn't exclusive. Most of the forum is male, which is why the questions were posed like this.

Good idea. I also often wondered about this. It's not easy to find a woman that I potentially like to marry, would be interested how other young BHW think about that topic.

With my current wife I was not but I do not remember with my first wife as that was in 1979 or so.

Current wife was a friend and we knew each other well... first date as a golf driving range where we hit golf balls and had a couple of beers.

She did not play golf at that time but picked it up pretty quickly.

Also had my first kiss with her there.

Friends first made the "Would you want to go and see what is like to hit golf balls at a place where we can have a couple of beers? Odds are if you hate the game you'll at least enjoy the beer." question fairly easy.

@BassTrackerBoats That's adorable, and it sounds so relaxing. Golf and beers means we're just chillin' and I don't have to dress up to impress you or go to a fancy place.

I love dates like that. Plus if you're friends, it's easier to be yourself.

We worked for the same company and our initial one on one was when there was a tech issue and I suggested we hit dunkin' donuts to get coffee for everyone.

She was nervous but I didn't think anything of it myself.

A few months later I was transferred to a different location and she gave me her number so we could keep in touch... I was a little slow as I still didn't pick up on her feelings.

At some point I caught on and I've been tied to a woman that is well above my paygrade since.
