Crazy Google Dance In The Last 24 Hours

I agree regarding a 'settlement' of exisitng SERPs' - In the past Ive had sites that have had mass drops in SERP only to regain their high ranking after some turbulence.

My main money site has dropped dramatically with 80+ drop for on of the main keywords. We have some major links coming into the site along with a cross balance of PBNs and thousands of contextual links from high DA /TF sites.

I am worried tbh as my livelihood is at stake and its been a while since anything like this has happened.

I am sure Google wants to spread the love as it where, making an equal balance between all sites incorporating positions of google places also and use of adwords. Just an abstract hypothetical theory I guess but food for thought maybe......

Ah man that graph hurts my eyes.

Explain your strategy? Give the URL to someone to try and see from a different pair of eyes what the issue might be. I can rip a client's site to shreds for their whole set up but when it comes to my own sites I'm blinkered.

Quick question :D, If i disavow a site.. and I remove the Disavow file.. will it be gone forever still or will google let the juice flow back again.

You join a few hours ago, call one of the seniors a troll then request precious info.

Sure fire way to get the boot.

Lol, why are you so mad? I really was clueless if this was a joke that i did not get its okay it will be okay.

Good luck using 'tiered' link building, transferring all that spam and crap onto your "tier1" thus making it spammy and crappy as well. With all that mix of garbage hitting your money sites. I don't even get into the details of buying PBN links, I would say more than half of SEOs don't know how to hide footprints, I've also seen plenty of times junk ex-PBN/ex-junk/ex-spam domain that have high metrics going for as high as 400$, if people who have that sort of money to spend on PBNs don't know what they are doing, let's not get into details what the bottom-feeders are doing.

This is the best update ever, rooting out SEO's from the playing field and preventing new ones to enter.

Many of arguable speculation,
I will just wait and see for next couple weeks

Maybe this new employee called fred accidentally press a "reset" button

And maybe if G see a major or panic movement on a site, they will press another button named "deindex"

I truly don't get anything of this still...

I still rank (although a bit lower) for "windows houses", which is a low volume KW, and I rank with the specific page for it.
BUT when it comes to "windows for houses", which is a higher volume KW, I've completely disappeared to the 8th page, and what ranks there is the category of the blog with that name, NOT the specific page for that KW.

Anyone makes any sense out of this?

And for "windows home" I'm now in the #12 spot, but for "window home" I'm in the #82? =/

Both were TOP10 previously.

What's your anchor text ratio/percentage? You can PM me too if you want.

Anyone with a lot of web 2.0s got hit?
I have more money sites, but just 1 started to fall: its traffic decreased by 50% (with mixed PBN, Web2, "Google hack method" linkbuilding from Marketpl.).
Other websites have some relevant hobbyblog links and natural links. :D

I am Indonesian, honestly i dont really care about this fred and just wait..

What hit the most to me and my traffic is before this fred, all potential visitor that use Indonesian IP on G.com is auto redirect to G.co.id,..
After this fred i notice that all user using Indonesian IP do not redirected to G.co.id but still using G.com.

My SERPS in G.co.id is remain strong, but visitors get down alot,.. and i think because many of my "potential visitors" usually type Gugel and when G detect them come from Indonesia they automatic redirected to G.co.id but now they still on g.com
And my SERPS in G.com is actually bad since i target country my web on Indonesian.

I do not know what fred actually do,.. but for sure, they didnt redirect user from Indonesia to .co.id anymore but all to .com.. and thats all will be major chaos,..
If all from germand, holland, korean, japannese.. come to all .com

I couldn't contain myself and went ahead with some changes, since I make daily changes anyway.

For my most important keyword that has dropped from #3 to #6 I have managed to recover (I hope). I have thrown everything and the kitchensink at it.

  • I had a featured image above the fold with a cloaked aff link. I believe even if you cloak the link and block it in robots.txt, Google can easily figure out what's going on. So I have removed the link and dialed back on aff links in general. I have done this because of the speculation that it's an ad-heavy penalty (above the fold may be important).
  • I have made some onpage changes that may have benefited, like going through the content with grammarly and some other things. I want to test it out on other pages before I share it.
  • Since the page had only 6 links from my PBN, I double checked those and beefed up the content a bit. I have done this because of Charles Floate thinking it's pbn related, although my PBN is 100% topical.
For my other pages I am doing these things separately, trying to pinpoint what the heck did Google do with this f'n update. Maybe it's a mix of things.

It's also possible that the page would have recovered anyway, or it's still dancing and will fall back again. But it's an outlier compared to the other pages, which seem to be settled in lower positions. At this stage I believe it's an onpage update, but the onpage can influence linking power (e.g. of PBNs).

Wouldn't it make sense for Google to say let's target what's low quality on PBNs? If non-PBN sites get hit, they are low quality anyway (based on those things they come up with), so they don't care.

Can't confirm this for German Google. Still when I go to g.com and type something it redirects me to g.de

Love the guys that come to brag about how their site is still dancing in the clouds. "Best update ever". People can lose everything here, years of hard work and dedication .... Everyone needs to be worried - whitehat, blackhat or fucking pinkhat.

I thought I dodged the shit storm until yesterday - 6 out of my 7 sites all tanked on the same day (weird af) and continue to drop. 2 used mixed backlinks with PBN's - other sites completely and utterly whitehat - let's hope the flowers start to grow after the storm.

The summary is this:
- "windows for houses" (high volume + big drop because its intended page isn't ranking for that but the blog is) the ratio is higher than average in the TOP spots. I was in the process of diluting that.
- "windows houses" (low volume + low drop) not many links with it.Intended page ranking.
- "windows home" (medium volume + low drop) has a normal to higher ratio. Intended page ranking.
- "windows for home" (low volume + low drop) low ratio. Intended page ranking.

It's like everything has dropped in general, but for some terms, it's like the ranking page has been wiped out and substituted with a category of the blog. It does happen with different page-term combinations.

Thanks!
