Making money with roulette

So recently I've been searching for new ways to make money , and I came across this roulette strategy where you bet on red/black numbers and I was wondering does anyone have experience with this? I want to try it out but I am still looking for that confidence boost to take the big leap.

Yes I know , the method is really old and well known and I've seen it a long time ago , but recently I've been studying math statistics and the numbers add up on this method. I just want to know did anyone really succed with it?

It works, and it doesn't work.
The chances for you getting either red or black is 50% to 50%. (If we forget about the 0)
The martingale strategy works as follows:
You start from an initial amount, and choose a color, f.ex black.
If you don't get black after the spin, then you need to double your bets.
This is to both win you losses back, and win the amount you was supposed to win in the first place.
This process is repeated till you finally win. In other words, you will have to double every time you lose.
When you then/finally win, you will start again with the initial amount which you started with in the beginning.
The problem with this is that when you lose 10 times in a row, it still won't change the chances you have, to get the picked color.
The chances will still be the same, in other words (in this case) 50% to 50%.
You might as well get the wrong color 1000 times, and finally lose every penny you had in your pocket.
Of course, it works the opposite way too, but you'd have to be very lucky to not lose more than you win.

The method itself works but if you can't control yourself you will lose all your money. Ive once done a similar roulette strategy, built my way from 10 dollars to 240 and lost it all there

well if you study math and statistics in particular you would see that this wont work on the long run... there is not 50/50 chance on red/black as there is also the 0... so you will lose up earlier or later...
rather go back to "studying math"

This method doesn't work. You will win for some time, but only small amounts of money. And some day will come where you lose all you have cause the same color comes X times in a row. It is mathematically proven that you lose in the long term. You can find the exact calculation on Wikipedia.

Stay away from "magic" strategies and online casinos in general. I've been down that road and lost all the investment. The writers of these methods have an affiliation with the casinos they're "suggesting" you to use and earn a commission proportional to the amount that you deposit or/and lose.

I'm going to file this thread in the silly section of my filing cabinet.

If you have ever been to Las Vegas, or any other gambling mecca, you have seen the huge opulent building in which the casinos reside.

They don't pay for those from losing at the tables.

Sure, there are other profit centers in those buildings and those contribute to the bottom line (I sent a gift to a friend that was staying at one of those casinos and he had to pay 10.00 to retrieve it!) but the games of chance are only a chance of the gambler and not the house.

The only sure thing in life is death and taxes... not beating the casinos at their own game.

When I worked at the casino a few years back, I was talking to one of the pit bosses on my break, and the martingale came up. His explanation was simple. Works great, but the time spent doesn't equal the money input. And eventually, you'll run out of capital and end up back at here you started.
