I think what I've learned from this thread is that no one has a clue what's going on Is it thin content? TOO much content? PBNs? overly optimised anchor? Too many ads? Too little ads?! Who the f knows!

I'm looking through the serps now and sites with worse backlink profiles, worse anchor text variations and thinner content are outranking me. Heck, even sites with broken links and 404 errors are doing better.

The only thing I can pin this down to is site age in my case.

I checked the historical rankings of a rival site of mine yesterday. In early Feb 6th for one of their main keywords, they tanked from position 30 all the way down to 100+. Low and behold, about 10 days later they bounce back stronger than ever to the top 20.

My site did something similar the other month. Was at 35, dropped to 50/60 then went up to 25 a week later.

No, I mean the web 2.0 properties that linked back to my main website were over optimized. I have adjusted the anchor text on them pointing back to my site. Hopefully that will recover the rankings. That's the only thing I can think of that would be impacting my site.

Impossible to say without seeing the content. I've seen some garbage at that price, as well as some reasonable quality content.

Same thing with me when i put in "" my site is back to being in top 3 positions for almsot all keywords....without the "" its back to 7-8 position and even some second page.
