Hello BHW,

I am new to the site and I plan on starting an Amazon Affiliate site in the next month. I have been reading a lot on here and I am just loving all of the information that everyone provides. I have never done any IM but I have time right now and a small budget to work with. I plan on taking this seriously and treating it like a business and I know that there will be some ups and downs but I welcome the learning experience.

Anyways I would like to know what was your start up cost and how much do you invest back into your sites every month?

I think it's going to take around ~$300 for me to start my site and I want to start with a budget of around ~$100 a month for services for my site.

Many moons ago, if I had to put it back to a time, I started with £35.

To be there for my online business used or not .

Client value $ : 3250$ + Tax.

Would you guys recommend making my own site or buying one from some of the sellers that make them?

Any pros and cons to the pre-made Amazon sites?

If you know what you are doing
AKA if you can do all this
  • KW research
  • a nice engaging responsive design
  • engaging reviews/articles
  • how to drive traffic (i saw one that did offer a free consultation/ebook on how to drive amazon traffic)
Then make your own, if not, buy a pre-made (but wary, remember to read reviews extensively.

@xReminisce
Thanks for the advice. It's definitely something that I will look into. I might go that route for my first site and keep learning more about KW research and SEO/traffic since I am not well versed in those fields yet.

In 2015 I think it was total $19 for domain and hosting a year and from there I wrote everything, did everything and took advantage of BHW freebies and review copies.

@yrazec
I bid you good luck on your journey
and like i mentioned before
Read the reviews, from start to end (even if its 400 pages, i been through 500 pages of reviews before purchasing a service)
Under the amazing marketplace we have, lies quite a few troublesome crappy ones
Go through the Shitlist section after you find a "good service" to see if the seller has ever been shitlisted before, and if so what for. (a good way to judge if the seller is worth buying from)
and lastly when you go through reviews, check on the TAT times to see when the person says they "received it"
that's also a good indication on their actual TATs.

@xReminisce I will definitely be reading the reviews as I do not want to just throw money away and thank you for all of the advice. I really appreciate it

Also thanks to everyone that has posted a reply in here :)

i build affiliate website start with $10 to buy domain..
but the big cost is times.. i must learn a lot like get free and secure host from github..
get ssl and optimize cloudflare.. and others... so i don't need pay monthly..
but if you have money.. you can outsource all to do that..
or if you like wordpress, just hire someone from fiverr or this forum to setup your website..
on digitalocean.. so you only pay $5 - $10 a month for hosting..

Are you doing Amazon?

I started with $0. My secret was promote direct affiliate links on link shorteners like bit.ly.
Now I pay few hundred a year for variety of domains, servers, and specialized tools/services.
