Natural Reach on instagram

Looking to compile info in one place for people to share techniques to grow natural reach, and issues they face.

that means not based on botting, and not based ads etc. just natural growth, which from my understanding is close to dead.

My initial question is: is there a particular percent of people who only see your stuff from your profile.

like does instagram have a way of knowing who's considered your "target" within your own following or is it based on interaction and time spent on a page?

i literally want to chat this out. i have my own ideas and thoughts about it. but ultimately i want to stop throwing pebbles into the ocean, and get a good foundation before implementing additional (which i kinda already do, but do it because i don't understand where the initial ig issue is)

I think a natural approach is not "next to dead", but we are going to have to put in work. I read somewhere that your activity is important. whether that is posting, liking, commenting, etc. helps you reach more people and helps expose your brand to more people. Similar to facebook or G+. My issue is creating relevant posts so I'm lacking in that area at the moment.

same.. I'm in the fashion niche.. and it's a brand, so its so easy for the sand to blow over you while you're creating and preparing, because everyone is doing it. So it kind of sucks. It's like in the fashion lane you have to reheat every season and rise from the dead or post stuff not consistently brand related. hahah but I'm trying to see if there's a way to be more consistent. hmm..

Fashion is very competitive. The big brand names have already dominated the market because a) they have the money to blow b) they have the best branding and marketing experts c) they have the established name and connections. That doesnt mean you can't grow your brand against the big shots, you definitely can. The fucking beautiful thing about the world right now is all the information and connections you desire to learn can be researched.

Heres my take on fashion brands on IG = you can buy social proof through shoutouts which open many channels of viewership to your page and build a level of credibility, grass root hustling - go out and spread the word about your brand and IG page, geo targeting on IG - know your audience then target those people in the right location. Looking for rich kids of america? target them at the hamptons in NY, etc, etc ,etc.

It is all about content. Period. I have one account where it literally took off because I took good pictures of a product and the head design director of the company took notice. He basically runs the entire product development of this Fortune 100 company.
He commented on my photos, liked and followed me. It was all gravy from there on. All the power influencers started to follow and each time he makes a comment, I hit explore.
It took off at 800 followers and I got traction at 1500 with two major retailers signing me up.

So what I am trying to get across is it is about who is important. I realize the success of that and started to hit users (like him) on linkedin. Ive posted it before, one of my strategy is to be-friend and attract attention of higher ups. People that make the decisions, e.g. the Head of the Social Media department. Not the Account Exec, the heads themselves.

This only works if you have genuine content. I've had to spend up to $100 on custom printed hard-cover portfolio books and send them out via postal mail. So yes, you can monetize on IG naturally.

great advice, thank you very much will definitely keep in touch with you, because I 100% agree with you, it definitely appears to be about discovery as a whole and proper timing i'd say as well. I just have to grow my budget and hustle.
