Correct, I could use gift cards, but as I'm living outside the US/CA, I can't buy them in store and getting others to buy them for me is just a pain for both parties. So I would have to pay with my real CC.

I checked out wrzhost and they seem to support what I want to do. Could you guys be forced by a lawyer to give out my details? Or am I a bit too worried here?
The other one, shinjiru, is in malaysia but seems they shut you down as soon as they get spam complaints etc. (at least that's what's in their acceptable use policy)

Hostgator has been great so far for me. If anytime I needed help with anything I just hopped on live chat and got instant help. I am willing to pay that bit extra for the support that's available.

I have an account with hostgator. they are fine, the only issue I had was I was running a cron every minute and they told me to change it to every 15 min.

Other than that, they've been good.

I've been spreading out my sites across many webhosts and VPS's

I also use bluehost and cirtex hosting. cirtex seemed like the best deal if you use the coupon code posted in one of the posts above.

Hostgator suspended my sites when i got a bit of traffic and i was on a vps!

Not to bring it back from the dead, only 15 days old, but how were you on a VPS when HostGator only sells Shared, Reseller, and Dedicated?

I don't like HostGator since I have my own hosting company, but no need to make false accusations and blatantly lie about them....

I went with theplanet since hostgator leases some of their servers to run their stuff I believe. They cut pretty good deals when you talk to their sales team and I got an unmetered dedicated quad-core on a 10mbps connection for 144/mo with a half-price ram upgrade. I ran hostgator before but additional IPs are $2/each per month in blocks of 8. Theplanet's are only $1/month but the downside is you need to submit a form to them saying what the ips will be used for, as with hostgator you didn't need that. I just put to provide dedicated hosting for clients.

if your serious about traffic and marketing hostgator is not the best choice. You start burning traffic and you will be shut off. Happens a lot people that hit your site or try i say when they sghut you off will get a nasty little message instead of your site lol. i forget what it says but that dosent matter what matters is that they totally ruined your promotion and your bottom line. i use shootingstarhosting if you start to burn bandwidth just tell them you have a promo going on and they will monitor it and raise your limit so you dont go over your allotment and you dont get shut off.
Right now you can get hosting for a buck a month with a promo they are doing.
Well worth a look if you ask me.
