Journey to £1.5k a month using Shopify.

Decided to get rid of the gaming niche. Too saturated and too little things to put in a niche to drive decent conversion.
instead I had an old domain that hadn't expired and won't for about 6mo, and using that I am going to make a start in the homewares niches hopefully. Not specifically mentioning my niche but I think it'll do much better and has a lot of potential.

Just thought I'd try to give you some help regarding this.
In all honesty, I don't think the niche is the problem. I'm pretty sure you could find someone with a 500k following on Instagram to give you a shoutout for around 50$, and I'm also positive that you will make more than 100$ profit from that. I know you said you don't have money to spend on a shoutout, but see it as an investment. I'm 100% confident that you would be better off getting a shoutout on a 500k page for $50 rather than spending that same amount of money on FB ads, especially if you're new to them.

What I've learned over the past few years is that you always have to reverse engineer the customer. What I mean by that is that you need to think as your customer. You say you are selling gaming products. Now, what would you be doing right now, if you were a gamer and were interested in gaming products ? You would most likely be following some Facebook Groups related to gaming, and perhaps you would be following Instagram pages that are related to that niche. That's where you got to start.

I went to a conference the other day and the guy was selling gaming jewelry. He was able to generate 3k$ in profit in just 2 hours, on Instagram only. So there's definitely a need for that, you just got to think as a gamer.

Always reverse engineer the other person!

1. How much budget do I need to start the same?
2. Do you buy manually from Aliexpress or shopify does? I have no express with this software.
3. Is Wecoomerce similar to shopify?
4. Do I need to sell high price items? ( more than $ 20 ) or this can work with cheap stuff( under $ 5). I ask becasue shipping cost at least $ 10 per item.
5. Did you try Adword or FB ads are better?

1. I didn't really have much to start with. Around $50 is good to have if you want to survive the extra month without making any sales.
2. I buy my products from AliExpress, I use Oberlo so once an order is placed through my shop, Oberlo purchases the item on AliExpress, meaning I don't have to manually order items for customers.
3. I've heard of WooCommerce being used but I'm sticking with Shopify.
4. Depends, I'm doing a few "free" promotional items and then charging shipping. Giving all of the other items free shipping so they're more inclined to buy more than one thing from the store. Increasing $ earned.
5. I've tried FB Ads, I haven't tried AdWords, though my first FB Ads were done so poorly that I had a ctr of around 1%, though engagements were around 10%. I've learned how to target these more accurately now and will be doing it on the new store that I'm making.

Good advice I think, but how do you build an email list on Instagram?

Mateen from Affengineer had done a free case study on IG shoutouts. He had broke even on his investment, I believe it was around $300.

Once again I have had around 42Uniques/1 abandoned checkout. No traffic seems to be converting. Maybe people have wised up to the old *free product charge shipping* method

Do not be disappointed, your traffic is still too small to draw a statistic conclusion...
Do not think too much now, just keep trying getting traffic, until you get 100 UV everyday.

Good advice I think, but how do you build an email list on Instagram?

I usually just put the link in the bio on instagram as a drive by page, so you subscribe to the list, then directed to the store.

On the subscribe page I always add an option for them to skip through straight to the store.

Does anybody have any suggestions to avoid the delivery times for Shopify or perhaps know of any ways to get it for cheap?

Does shopify hold your money for a week or so like paypal? If they do, did they do it on the first sale or the 100th? Seems like a silly question but I want to know.
