Time to Restart my Account?

I'm helping my girlfriend launch her lifestyle blog, so I've been running Mass Planner, using strategic hashtags, and trying to keep engagement up. We're around 4k in followers right now and growing at a little over a 100 a day in followers.

Since I'm kind of learning on the fly, my initial approach was going to be to set up several relevant niche accounts and use them to leverage her account, in addition to shoutouts, giveaways etc. Having learned more about the power of power likes, it seems like this needs to be a priority moving forward.

Unfortunately, based on what I've read, it seems like we made a critical error starting out. We used her already running account that she registered in 2012. Seemingly, we did ourselves a pretty huge disservice, considering older accounts have trouble making it on the Explore page. Is now the time to start over and do things the right way?

Are you going to spend big on power likes?
Do you have your own large niche network that you can leverage?

If the answer is yes to either of these then yes, I would restart.

If not, keep building the way you are because you will have higher Massplanner limits than a new account would.

We have a budget around $200-300/ month for power likes, but I don't necessarily intend on establishing a large niche network. I was thinking of keeping it in the 10 range. I wanted to focus more on the content of her page, investing in a photographer and anything else that would add to the pages value. I'm kind of torn right now. I feel going all in on power likes and cutting our losses might be the smartest long term plan.

In regards to Mass Planner settings, we've been keeping it pretty conservative (10-15 followers per operation, w/ 10-15 minute breaks in between operations. Following around 900 a day). We could also expand on those settings, but I'm not sure what the threshold is in terms of getting banned. Thanks for your feedback.
