How I Made $53 Today On InstaGram

Clever, BTW. Talking to the supplier before hand to make changes to the invoice. Did you have to pay for this or where they just happy to do it?

The supplier that agreed to do this was more than happy to accomodate my packaging needs as I was technically going to be promoting his products. Every sale he received through me was an order he wouldn't have had otherwise.

I see a massive problam here not somethink that can not be fixed but with suppliers help .

What happends if a person orders a item your suplier out of stock .

Do you have supplier stock updates ????

Who are u using as the suplier ,are you useing the website you are doing price comparison?

Do you tell the suplier not to include his recept in the box , as most do on sending stock ...

I previously addressed this in another response/comment I made. All of the products I'm selling are current items. By this I mean that they are items that the supplier will be sure not to run out of. The absolute worst case scenario would be that I'd have to refund the payment to the buyer.

However, it wouldn't come down to this as this is an established supplier that always has the items I'm reselling in stock.

Just a quick update for you guys. Since posting this thread, I've made a total of $118 in profit from the IG page. It's looking like a promising endeavor with a very minimal investment. I'm not making big bucks here but it's working and gaining some traction.

There is a Amazon wordpress plugin were you could add a percent or flat fee to the price in order to sell and get a higher commission. Just talking out loud here. Sounds like an interesting idea.

Hi EntertheDeals, just wondering what this wordpress plugin is that you speak of? Would love to find out. Just looked around and cant find anything that does this...

What you're doing is IG+Dropship. Here are a couple of question -

How do you provide tracking orders?
How did you find your supplier?
How do you deal with returns?
Are you based in the US?

First of all, this is a very interesting thread for me since i've been always interested in dropshipping+IG.

Now, two question.
You said you started building your IG page one week ago and you already made 4 sales?
This is impressive. You've been growing the page manually and that gave you a good targeted audience but, if i may ask, how many followers did you have before you made your first sale?
And second one, did you used any traffic source to promote your products which was not IG?

Thank you in advance.

A tracking # is provided to me from the supplier. I provide this # to the customer.

I found my supplier by searching for "wholesale computers" and "wholesale computer parts" on Google.

I haven't had any returns yet. In this case, the product would be returned to the supplier, the supplier would refund me and I would refund the customer.

Yes I'm based in the US.

I need someone that can provide an american bank account with zero dollars in it, to work together and make huge money. If you can then add me up on bbm let's talk here is my pin D608381E

Please don't spam my thread with this junk.

Sold one 4 TB External HD today for $159.99 (My cost is $129.99) and sold a laptop for $349.99 (My cost $314.99). Awesome day!

Just curious as to why people would buy from you (an unreliable website) as compared to amazon...

But congrats buddy, you might have struck a gold mine. Good to scale this shit

He may chime in with his own answer but here is mine. There is no doubt at least a few customers feel that way, but enough of them will still buy from people like OP, and for one reason.

Advertising. That is our advantage in these e-commerce methods. Our / their advantage is that the offer can be displayed and targeted through IG and FB ads, so even though it might be available on Amazon, the Op may be getting his offer in front of them first and they may not be aware of how much stuff is on Amazon.

Thats my theory

Hmmm I'm interested in this part too...

What's your USP here? What's influencing people who get followed by a random, brand-new Instagram page, to spend hundreds of dollars on computer equipment for an unheard of retailer when they can find the products considerably cheaper from reputable suppliers?

Are these geniune branded products or cheap chinese alternatives etc? Are you using some sort of loss-leading promotional pricing strategy for other products to get people to visit your store and trying to get them with upsales?

You're either the worlds best marketer or the consuming public are even more gullible than we thought (or option C, you're telling porkies).

The OP stated that he was simply following people who've liked posts from PC-related pages and that's his traffic source, no mention of targeting actual ads.

That's why I'm dubious that he can convince people who're browsing Instagram (cold-leads in a non-buying mindset) to purchase over priced computing equipment simply because his Instagram page followed them.

I am dubious as well. But then again, fortune favors the bold. Still kudos to OP for sharing this method

I think what's making my page/site successful is the fact that I've done the following:

The website was a professionally built site with an authoritative design. By this I mean a well designed logo along with a user-friendly layout.

I've added a phone number to the website for support which increases the customer's trust prior to purchase.

All of the posts on my IG page for the products that I have listed for sale include at least 5-6 sentences about the product such as specifications (I mentioned this in a previous comment). This is important as I don't just say "Go purchase at the link in my bio". I actually go in to detail on the IG post about the item to help the potential buyer make a decision on whether they want to purchase or not before they even land on my site.

I interact with users who like my photos and I always respond to all comments.

I state on both my IG page and my website that "all" orders include a tracking #. This for obvious reasons is a big plus to a buyer (Especially for a site such as my own that isn't well known) as they'll be able to confirm that they're actually going to receive what they ordered.

Good question and I think part of the answer has been provided by OP.

In addition I think several other factors come into play...
1/ People are lazy and if they aren't too price sensitive they will just impulse purchase. Add in some clear benefits to common pain points to help the purchase decision.
2/ less of a factor in the technology niche, but lots of people are just not clued up enough to search for an alternative.

Amazon etc does not totally rule the ecommerce space......yet lol

Great share OP and going to use for my UK based Pinterest and ig accounts. Thanks

This is definitely what's most important here. You did something different, you took a risk, and it paid off. Not to mention, this is incredibly "spinnable", and a lot of members will benefit from this by adding their own twist!

Great share & congrats!
Not really different, it's still dropshipping, most of the users are doing this. Just...different target

Yes, you're right in the sense that it's still drop shipping however there's just a twist added in to the method as far as targeting potential buyers. What I've found to be beneficial about InstaGram is the ability to instantly put posts/products in front of hundreds/thousands of people (Depending on the # of followers). I do believe though that to make money on IG that you really need to choose the right niche. For example, I think 1K followers on my page could be more profitable then 10K followers on a fashion page.

I see a lot of people with 10k-20k followers that are struggling to monetize their account(s) and I think this is due to poor niche selection and/or research.

Fashion is selling better than your niche. If people fail, that's because their poor content/website. To give you an ex, instead of posting a stupid random picture with a pair of shoes, better photoshop a celebrity wearing that pair of shoes, and add a 80% discount :)
