Yes I have done this and its proven method, for noobs I am going to write in points to easily understand and follow steps
1) Register Expired domains with high pa/da tf/cf (well you can get this on Fiverr, Free you can use the tool Domain Hunter (they have free version and paid version ) to check tf/cf you can use free service of majestic and pa/da multiple sties are there you can check pa/da over there - NOTE: step 1 will take little time, as you have to search really well high ranking domain name based on your keyword
2) Now lets move to point 2 i.e. building a website, well thanks to Way Back Machine, you can check and/or grab all the files (old website) and make it live - You can use a very good tool such as Dom recovery to make your job easier
3) Now register your domain/website on Flippa - If you dont want to do step 2 then register on flippa as Domain, and/or if you want to do step 2 - then sell it as a website
4) THAT's ALL
Note: in step 4 you will write a really good sales/marketing blurb something like
"This XYZ.com is 17 years old domain, a gold mine having da/pa 35 tf/cf 25 having 300 pages, 79 articles - I dont have much energy to focus on this as have other things going on - so selling it"
ALL above effort may take 3-5 days, and cost you zero dollar but end result you can make anywhere between $10 to thousands of dollars.

Update: Please do note if its costing you to register domain $10 thats nothing compared to what you will make at end - Also do note, Domain Hunter has a FREE version, Majestic also offer you to check daily Free (3 tries) etc..
