So when you want to rank a KW that has Best <Product Name> or <Product Name> Reviews (not including KW modifiers like 2017), always have a table on your page, ALWAYS!! As most the time the serp has a snippet.

The format of the table must always be the same with
columns along the top with headings that show a different spec of the product. Then rows with the products in them.

I'm ranking number 1 for something, but some dude further down owns the Knowledge card with his table.

I had a table on my page that's #1, so why don't I have the knowledge card?

Mine wasnt formatted correctly. I use the WP GoPricing plugin, which looks good, but generally lists each product in columns.

I assume Google wants it to be like Excel/Google sheets.

After reformatting the table correctly and adding more content into the table than the other guy had, I now have the snippet.

In these examples the Knowledge card tables are the same format:

There are two pricing tables on the page.
The first one isn't formatted correctly and isn't in the Knowledge card.
The second one on the same page is and its in the knowledge card.

This one http://kayakerguide.com/best-fishing-kayak/
They simply embedded a Gsheet which is in the knowledge card.

I went through about 30 sites with the "Best" and "Reviews" buyer intent and the serps were all similar.

thanks for sharing your findings. did you end up using a wordpress plugin for your tables eventually? or you created the table manually?

Yes you are right I know How it sucks to be on #1 but some dude on #4 takes on knowledge spot.
Besides I also use TablePress But its not responsive will try the other one.

Thanks for sharing

Nice find, I like the second plugin, will need to try!

thanks for case study buddy
what about informational site ?
do you have any case study about the snippet?

Dude, this is useful finding and nice case study. Thank you for that.
Will mark this for later analysis

thanks man. I have tablepress tables on my pages but no appearance in the knowledge card.
Gonna add some content to the tables and see how it goes.
I'll owe you a beer if I hit the spot.

thanks
i m doing the same with tablepress

If there is already a table in the snippet and you have Position 1, make sure the content in your table is more than what's in the snippet. E.g. more columns and more rows. Then ask Google to recrawl your page via WMT.

thanks

As per my above response, put more data into your table then what is in the current snippet table.

I myself have a site that is beating the competition because mine has a properly formatted table. From my experience I agree with the findings in your study.

Does it matter where tables are placed? Do they need to be somewhere in the top of your website?

this is very valuable information thanks alot for sharing.. how bout putting price on the serp ?
