Many things are wrong in article.
First of all, recommendation about Cloudflare and minifying plugins. As a developer, I want to kill people who make such recommendation. because I have tons of support after this. Cloudflare usually has also rocket load extension which compress js files. If you will use it with other minifying plugins - this breaks all js on site in 90%
Changing to nginx is good suggestion, but you will have many troubles after this if you don't have enough skills to prevent them

14. Remove plugins for stuff you can achieve with simple builtin logic
