Looking to build a desktop under 700$ for my younger brother mostly for gaming purpose.

Could anyone of you guide me where to start with since i have no fucking idea how and where to start with.

Or should i just buy the pre build ones from any of the popular websites.

All suggestions and criticism are welcome.

Thanks

If it is for gaming, which games does he play.
Look at the specs for the games as a minimum starting point.
Personally, I have been disappointed with a couple of recent builds using AMD and ASUS components so would advise going with an Intel CPU and Nvidia GC

Go ebay get fantastic bundle deals .

amd chip 8 core , 16gb ram
, cheap all in ,then u need dvd player
And 1tb hardrive ,and case with powerpack.....

Your need a os on 64bit....

This is a good one to pair with a GTX 1050 Ti

You did not indicate in which country you live, so difficult to give concrete help.
Gaming is a wide spectrum, but looking for a good graphic card is the most important point.
The "packages" often are not really sufficient, simply expesnive.
Better looks for a speedy PC (maybe refurbished), and buy a graphic card separately.

If you buld it will be a better system
For your money ...

I only like amd stuff , work fine and
Kingston ram

Ssd drives via kingston v300

Currently the FX 8350 is 150$ while the i7 4790k is about 300$. So you might think that the i7 must be 150x times faster or better than the FX 8350. The answer is just simply no, it is not even 2x times faster than the FX 8350. In games or general use both of the CPU's will run pretty much the same (Intel will have slight edge on same games and applications)
The thing is AMD has better value than the Intel, and not to mention that FX8350 can be overclocked on cheaper Motherboards, so overall the FX 8350 + 970 chipset motherboard is on cheaper platform for gaming or content creation.

here's mine

cpu only
processor: Amd a6- 7400k
ram: 4gb
500gbhdd
no video card

cost: <250$ in my country

Best use for DOTA2

Intel offers a better value than AMD these days, that article is from 2014.

Damn i am seeing so many people favoring AMD over INTEL these days. I definitely need to check it out. I heard AMD's are pretty bad compared to intel.

Will check it out.
AMD is getting bested by the i3's now.

That is correct, but not looking for a high rated graphics card just something which can run games smoothly.

There should be a new thread where people arguing about AMD and Intel :)

Will check it out though i am so confused whether to go with AMD or INTEL now.

AMD surely saves money but is it worth to go for AMD

I typed "Best Buy" Desktop. First thing that came up was:
Alienware - Aurora Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 - 1TB Hard Drive - Epic silver
  • Windows 10 Home 64-bit.
  • Technical details: 6th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor; 8GB memory; 1TB hard drive.
  • Special features: built-in wireless networking; Bluetooth; one HDMI output.

Then I went to the Buy Site and looked at desktops. There are any number that would meet your needs:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/all-desktops/towers-only/pcmcat212600050008.c?id=pcmcat212600050008

Then I went to Newegg. Again many that meet your needs:

Then I went to Tiger Direct. Same Story:

Going to the gaming desktop at Tiger Direct:

In todays market, you can often come out ahead by buying prebuilt systems rather than building your own.

In the next few months AMD is supposed to be releasing a new CPU that is alleged to be an Intel killer. I have read reviews of it, but no one has had hands on to benchmark it so the reviews are based on the AMD literature. The literature is often rosy compared to the actual product. I do not remember the run number, only that it is a 10 or 12 core CPU.

I believe that this may be the review I read:

here you can check if your cpu, gpu, ram. can run the games your wanted smoothly.

We won't find out for about a month if its going to be worth it or not. I think their ryzen APU's are probably going to be what is going to be a really good deal.

Would love to discuss it with you. Unfortunately, it is not possible today. I had some minor but very painful surgery on the 20th. To say I shit fireballs is an understatement. Earlier today I ripped or tore something I should not have. I had run out of Hydrocodone for the pain two days ago and figured I was in for a rough day. Though I have hash around, it is the wrong strain for physical pain - Sativa v. Indica. As I was getting up out of my chair, I saw that my wife still had most of a bottle from her last operation in which her jaw was removed and the bone was replaced with titanium. Horrible tasting shit, but Hydrocodone. I latched on to it and took more than I should. So I am stoned off my @ss.

Again, I do not remember from where, but in the not to distant past I had read that the cellphone SOC's may soon overtake the computer world and displace the CPU. The capabilities of many SOC's are now compatible to the CPU, and some exceed the CPU abilities.
