[Journey ] Amazon Niche Site

Hope everyone is having a great day. Have a small update. I wrote another 1800 word article , sort of a top products type deal, like a top 10 but not actually assigning a number to each product. I also ordered a link package for social signals mainly.

https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/s...da-84-50-discount-today-boost-traffic.777133/

I will of course report back with the results. I ordered the PRO with 40% discount.

Hopefully this will speed things along and provide a foundation for my link building. I plan on building a couple web 2.0s for each article shortly then I've got to look into some proxies to run GSA for tier 2 links. I'm debating how many proxies I may need , considering it's still a very small site and I'm going to be trying to just build higher quality tier 2 links. Not going to try to make 10 billion links or anything. Any suggestions?

I've also been working on my social profiles which are coming along, slowly but surely. For now I'm just using Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. I'm also looking into group buy options for KW and content spinning services such as Semrush, KWrevealer , and Wordai. I think I've found a good option.

I'm also trying to figure out how to make my right sidebar scroll or "float" with the text once you reach the bottom. For instance I want my right sidebar to continue to scroll with you as you scroll down the page once you reach the bottom of it. Example of what I'm trying to achieve : https://www.baldingbeards.com/category/beards/ -- how his ad at the bottom of his sidebar scrolls with you. I'm using the same theme as him . Anyone got any clue how he did it?

Thanks for all the wishes and for following everyone - hope you're having a fantastic day/evening !

Good luck, Tim! Keep us posted on your journey!

Well , I'm officially ranking for a few keywords. They placed me at #44 for one keyword, which would be alright for no backlinks , but there is a couple issues with it.

To explain the issue we're going to pretend my niche is keyboards. I have articles wrote for keyboard buying guide , best gaming keyboards, best wireless keyboards, and so on.
For the keyboard buying guide I'm targeting KW - keyboard. For best gaming keyboards I'm targeting KW phrase - best gaming keyboards, and so on.
Keep in mind these articles are very new so the fact that some/most aren't indexed and ranking yet is not alarming.

The issue is I'm now ranking 44th for best gaming keyboard KW , but its not my best gaming keyboard article that is ranking. It's my keyboard buying guide - which isn't that surprising considering its my longest article (3k words). What bothers me is that it's not ranking for it's target KWs, yet at least. I hope the fact that its ranking for best gaming keyboard and not the target KW - keyboard , doesn't mean that it's not going to?

Issue number 2, and the one I'm more concerned about is when I first posted this article I had keyboard buying guide 2017 , and the 2017 was at the end of the URL.(example.com/keyboard-buying-guide-2017) I promptly changed that and removed the 2017 from the URL making it example.com/keyboard-buying-guide , but Google has the URL - which is a dead link now - with the 2017 at the end of it. I'm not sure why this has occurred, and is it something that will fix itself?

I'm also still trying to figure out how to edit the right sidebar and make it like the baldingbeards example I provided in my previous post.

I started using a new SERP ranking tracker called mondovo.com , and let me tell you its simply amazing. Its so much more than rank tracking , and its pay for what you use, and pay as you go. They provide a 3$ , one week free trial. I highly recommend checking them out!

Great journey man, I'll be following.

For your link, you need to add a 301 permanently moved header. Google it. Basically, when someone goes to your site for the link with 2017 on the end, your need to send a 301 permanently moved header and then redirect them to the correct page. Google will get that and fix accordingly.

Yes, keep a page at the old link with nothing but the 301 and redirect to the new link. Google will fix next time it's bot crawls your site. Make sure there is a link to the incorrect 2017 page on your homepage so the bot can hit that 301.

And yes, with the HTTPS, it should not redirect back to non secure version. I have to go to bed for work, but I'll pm you in the morning with advice and questions.

Well I certainly appreciate that. I 301'd the article , going to add a link on the homepage now too.

That's pretty much what I've done so far so you're all caught up. A little about my niche and KWs. They seem to be pretty low competition , no other niche review sites targeting my keywords and writing good content. My competitors are mainly eCommerce sites with no relativity to the products being sold. Product ranges from $25 - all the way up to $300 , with the most popular products around 80-120. I've used SEMrush for all my KW research.

Goals

My long term goals are to get this page up to atleast $1,000 per month and hopefully exceed that. I hope to accomplish the 1k per month within 6 months, but as long as I'm seeing some progress it'll be good with me! I've invested ~160$ thus far and made 0. My sites are brand new and have barely even had time to be indexed. I hope to be able to invest at least $100 a month into the site to help speed things along. Some months I may be able to invest slightly more.

Short term goals are to continue to develop content and grow my social media accounts.

I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff , but this is a good start. I will try to update at least twice per week or anytime that there is relevant information warranting an update.

Very Good luck with your Amazon Affiliate site.
You got ranked #44 on search engine without any backlinks, Its a good keyword.
Tell me the competition level and it will make others clear on finding low competition.
what is your main keyword has monthly searches ?

If you can just share the screenshot of top ten competitors(dont show the link, just show the metrics).

Once again good luck and following your thread. I wish you can reach your goal soon.

Right now I'm at 25 for one KW with MS of 780. 33 For another MS 480 . 44 for another with MS of only 180.

My main KWs search volume wise, unfortunately are not buyer-intent KWS. Although they do not have buyer intent , the MS is 49.5k and 9.9k. The difference between those kws are "example" and "example(s)".

The competition level via Semrush is under 70 for the ones I'm ranking. The top tens are weak IMO , and I hope my opinion is correct but to let you know what the top tens look like: Amazon owns the top 2-3 , there is a youtube video , and a couple ecommerce sites that have no content just products. There is a wiki page. They all seem to have no real backlinks atleast to that particular KW , although obviously amazon has a lot of authority.

Also, another thing that I have included is a couple of ads blocks selling Clickbank products directly related to my niche in the right sidebar. I hope that is not against any TOS and a good idea. Input??

UPDATE:

My next plans are to write a few more individual product reviews for this product line , and then start adding another product line to the site. I think the next product I'm going to add is going to be a low price product that sells really well , in hopes of adding volume of sales to my amazon acct to raise my % commission level with more sales.

Also I started making web 2.0s with a filler article to allow them to age a bit. For now I'm just making 10 web 2.0s for each KW. Right now I'm not even linking back to my site , I'm just making the web 2.0s and letting them age a bit.

Thats a good one to see.

Well, I hope you have created the proper pages to make your site looks professional and real. If not add them, search engine will like your site if it has proper pages.

Note: Just add Amazon link 3 times per 500 words product description.

Do you guy's think a KW with 49.5k MS volume would still be profitable if its not buyer intent. Let's say its just swing sets not best swing sets or swing set reviews.

The problem I can see here isn't whether or not it's buyer intent. The problem is that the searcher isn't looking to be convinced of buying a product, they simply want to find the product and buy it. Basically, the searcher's inquiry is satisfied by the ecommerce sites in the results. They are likely to click on the Amazon results right away. I'm a noob though so I may be wrong, but that's how I see it.

I think the wordpress plug-in I used for my sidebar was called Q2W3 Fixed Widget

Yeah mechleader- you're right I found that!!

Well if that was correct then a solution would be to rank above them :)

Hey, are you using a silo structure or not?
Thanks for sharing your information and journey OP :)

Good Luck OP, i will be following this journey. 100 dollar is the budget which most of the members here can afford. i really want you to be successful with this journey. it will be great motivation for other low budget members.

I don't know about that.. They would still prefer to click on the Amazon result below you. They probably already have Amazon or Ebay in mind when searching.

Yes, I suppose that could be so. Regardless, there has to be SOME money involved with just the shear volume.

I just had about $160 to start out with. My budget is more than that but it's nothing crazy. I'd say on average , presuming I don't make ANY money from the project itself , that I'll be able to invest ~$200 a month. I'm in a situation that I have the rest of my bills/needs accounted for and taken care of financially already, so anything that I start profiting from this project can be reinvested right back into it. With that said, hopefully 3-6 months from now , my budget will be quite a bit more.
