[METHOD] Avoid Transaction Fees In Shopify

If you are using Shopify you probably have noticed the 2.9% + 30¢ for every sale you get in your store. And this can add up really quickly once you start getting a ton of sales and mess up your numbers. Well, there's a way to get around it.

With a little tweaking, you can go about selling without any transaction fees what so ever. When you signed up with Shopify you went to Shopify.com and that's why you got the fees. All you have to do is sign up at Shopify.in and you will have 0 fees.

Head over to https://www.shopify.in/pricing and compare it to .com and you will see the difference. With so many of you trying my or antichrist's method both of which involve Shopify, I figured this would really help save you a lot of $ in the long term. Also, I got a quite a lot of questions about this fees in my Shopify thread and this is how you go about avoiding it.

It is India's domain, so I'm sure it has something to do with the laws there.

If they discover you registered using that, while from the U.S., do you think there could be any backlash, @nihalsad?

This applies to stores running their business in India only. If your business is registered in USA you're supposed to use the .com site and the fees listed there adheres to it. Also I read their terms and it seems like we got to use their shopify payments instead of third party payment gateways to avail their transaction fees. Moreover FYI, they don't have shopify payments for India yet and we perhaps wanna go with some third party payment gateways, the sole reason why the transaction fees are listed as 0% in their website! They have shopify payments only for a few countries listed in their website. Check this out: https://help.shopify.com/manual/payments/shopify-payments

I don't know whether they'd charge extra for International payments while running a store that deals with international transactions. Got to learn more into this, have been running stores on opencart with a third party payment gateway to avoid these hassles.

I looked to other countries and found that the Philippines are also reduced transaction fees and even lower monthly price!
