Hello,

I was thinking about how many people a month/year put into search badly typed domain name.

For example when someone wants to go on facebook.com but goes on faebook.com because he missed c on his keyboard.

I wanted to know how often that happens so I used Google Keyword Planner and searched exact match for http://faebook.com/

But Planner showed me results of facebook.com

Maybe some kind of autocorrect? I don't know especially when http://faebook.com/ isn't redirected to FB as for example http://facebok.com/

So my question is:

How can I get search volume for badly typed domain names?

Unless people type the actual URL into the search bar in Google or other search engine, there's no way you could get that data, because it wouldn't be recorded anywhere.

Do you actually know anyone who types the complete URL of a website in Google to find it? Normally people search for the name and maximum they would type ".com" and that's it...You could try searching for "facbook" or "fcebook" using the Keyword Tool, but the volume will be minuscule, so I doubt it's worth spending any time on this idea...

Its depend upon keyword popularity ,if some one searching FB face book automatically comeing .......

My understanding is that because Google has auto-corrected the search on the backend, and returns the same set of results for "Facebook" rather than "Faebook", it counts the search towards the MS for "Facebook" since that is the result set it is pulling from.

SEMRush does give you a number though based on the misspelled word - 74,000 is their number

Wow that's huge.. that's per month right ?

Well SEMrush shows Facebook as having 414MM searches per month, so 74k is quite logical I think.

And they have tons other mis-spellings
