How the hell do you make it?

I stumbled upon a channel with a very popular cartoon movies and I noticed that the owner has adsense running on all the videos. I became very curious and wondered if I could replicate it. I tried both:

1. Got the original movies and uploaded them on my channel (tried some downscaling and stuff)
2. Downloaded movies from the guy's channel and just re-uploaded them as is

No matter what I do I am getting content ID matches and the videos getting blocked worldwide almost immediately. So I'm wondering is there a secret I don't know? I mean I know people fool youtube's automated content ID system making videos in frames with moving backgrounds and such, but this one is different. It's just a bit cropped full screen movie without any effects. But even if I try to reupload it, I get it blocked, so the secret lies somewhere else apparently.

I don't really want to name the channel. The guy's making big money with it and I don't want to harm his business. But I'm really curious if there is a secret workaround indeed so I have to research it further, or maybe I'm just missing something?

He could be tweaking the video content. For example adding his own logo sting at the start or end. That changes the video length and hence new content.

You cannot fool youtube's content ID system by adding a logo or changing video length. And did you even read my post?

I asked if you read the post because you missed the part where I say that I tried to re-upload his videos, but still was getting them blocked.

No audio change, no logos, no length change, no frames, no animated backgrounds. Cropped, but that doesn't do a thing (tested).

Unless you share the channel details it could be bit difficult to answer exactly but can you let us know how old is the channel and is he uploading same type of content from the starting.

Also are the movies from 1 banner or multiple? Could be possible that he is taking permission and sharing revenues otherwise he would also get the content id matches thing.

The channel is 9 months old. Most of the videos were uploaded in first few days after registration, and after that there wasn't any activity for about 2 month until the point when all the videos started to gain a lot of views. The owner started adding a few new videos a month and still doing pretty good. I'm not sure what you mean by "1 banner or multiple". Could you elaborate please?

It's not the "taking permission" or "buying rights" thing, that's for sure. It's pure blackhat.

Work at a tv station. Scaling/cropping doesn't change the digital data it still follows patterns. Putting a logo or overlay over sections of the screen only changes a percentage of the data from the original. If you want to beat software based content strikes tilt the image by 1-2%. It will mess up and jumble every line, and throw a logo or overlay over it. Other options include mirroring the image but I get the feeling youtube would be on to that by now. On top of that audio will have to be slightly pitch adjusted otherwise yt will see the cartoon audio as the same and strike you on that.

Back in the day you could just change the md5 of video to bypass the filter.. These days, you need a lot more than that...

Thanks for the informative reply! Going to try tilt today, just for science. As I said, there is another method to bypass Content ID system that seems to be working flawlessly - downscaling image and putting it on an animated background. The thing I'm trying to convey though is that none of the image editing methods really matter in this particular case, because if I re-upload the videos from the guy's channel, I get it blocked. Considering that I re-upload 1:1 copies and still trigger Content ID, the solution lies in another dimension, apparently. Maybe it's something to do with the disputing trick, idk.
