non cancerous smoking

Cigarettes primarily effects the heart and lungs as well as other organs.

E-cigarettes are not yet proven in my opinion. We still dont know what it does after 10-20 years.

Cigars can cause mouth/tongue cancer.

I started smoking at age 17, after 6 years i quit. I wish i never had started. Lack of concentration, head aches, lack of energy, unpleasant odor.

I smoked a pack a day, EVER.SINGLE.DAY, marlboro ultra lights, marlboro lights, parliaments, 7$ a pack. (For sake of arguement) 5 years = 1825 days x 7$ = 12,775$. :D

Could have gotten married for that money :D

How did you quit?

How did you quit?

I got tired of smoking, i would get headaches almost every night, i would be out of breath climbing 15-20 stairs. I had to quit drinking also. Liquor and cigarettes go hand in hand. I changed my circle of friends as much as i could and stopped hanging out with smokers as much as possible. I saved up about 3 months of cigarette boxes and i kept it in sight. I'd look at it and try to imagine how much smoke all those packs would produce if they were lit, and i'd imagine all that smoke and tar in my lungs.

I tried patches and e-cigs and all that bullshit before, it does not help. just another way to the tobacco industry to make more money off you. I stopped smoking in 1 day and kept it that way, it wasnt easy, but it sure was worth it. even breathing normal air feels different now in a good way. smokers will know what i mean when i say "there is nothing cool about smoking", its a really bad addiction.

i take it that you have a strong willpower. I am asking because im trying to quit myself.

Everything that you smoke would increase the risk of cancer... maybe vape would be the safest way...

are there any forms of smoking that doesn't lead to cancer?
i dont think smoking causes cancer, My grandpa started smoking at the age of 14 and died at the age of 96 which i think its pretty good age to die imo.Why do u want to burden your family members taking care of you at such an old age?Dude u cant be selfish,u got to think for others.

If you got cancer?? U got cancer... Man up and take it like man !

I decided not to smoke from this morning and I see this on BHW. If you wanna smoke, then do it.
Why worry on Cancer and other things.

If I smoked/vaped I'd trust the advice of the world's largest impartial and one of the most advanced health services. What is your source to suggest vaping is worse than smoking?

I just said vaping can cause pneumonia. Who ever said it is worse than smoking? Lol

I'll be finishing my first month of going cold turkey tomorrow. Used to smoke a pack a day. It wasn't that difficult though, of course had a few failed attempts before, so it was like a dry run. So far so good. The urges reduce slowly over time. On day 1, just break your smoking routine. (I am used to waking up and having a coffee/smoke around 6/7. So on day 1 I slept half the day, watched movies on day 2. It wasn't that hard by day 3).

Be sure to have comfort food, cos you will get hungry like crazy. Good luck on your journey. Its all in the head.

That's how I did it too. Just stopped cold turkey one day. Haven't touched a cig for more than 2 months now after previously smoking a pack a day for a couple of years. Feels absolutely amazing to be finally done with it. Good luck to you!

No, safest bet is not smoking, easier said than done thought

I vape but I wouldn't go as far as saying they are a safer alternative to cigs. For me economically it makes sense, in the UK a pack of 20 Benson Silver is around £10.00, 5 per week =£200 per month. Vaping wise, I spend around £40.00 per month. However long term effects will probably only be known when I am no longer around.

I will not say that vaping (e-cigs) are perfectly safe. We really do not know as the research is not currently conducted. I will say that vaping is most likely safer than tobacco cigarettes. When you burn tobacco there are over 4000 chemicals emitted. When you vape, there are about 8 chemicals involved. E-Juice is made from nicotine, generally a flavoring agent (or several), Propylene Glycol, and Glycerin. The Glycol and Glycerin are generally at least Food grade. My own mixes use pharmaceutical grade. Both Glycerin and Glycol have a use as anti-freeze, however, both are also approved as safe for human consumption. I stress the consumption. There are no studies I am aware of regarding inhalation of either. When you vape, if you vape at the wrong temperatures formaldehyde is created. Formaldehyde is better known as embalming fluid, some people use it to get high, but California has it listed as a possible cancer causing compound. The better batteries (mods) are capable of generating temperatures high enough to create formaldehyde in higher quantities than poorer ecigs. The kit below is mine. It is an HOhm Slice with a 26650 battery that can generate up to 101 watts and is temperature and wattage controlled and uses the FSK programmable chip. The atomizer (liquid holder) is an Honor Sense. The coil inside is a 1.8 ohm ceramic coil. Box mods can blow up if abused, but regulated mods are far less likely to unless you abuse (overcharge) or drop the battery.

My own experience is that vaping has allowed me the opportunity to stop smoking cigarettes. I spent ten years attempting to stop before e-cigs. The HOhm is my third e-cig. The first was an Ego cheapie (though not cheap at the time). It was useless because it did not create the same throat and lung sensation as smoking cigarettes did. The next e-cig about a year, maybe two, later was an Ego One CT. It recreated the sensation of smoking a cigarette and allowed me to completely stop tobacco cigarettes. After a little over a year the firing button failed on it and I bought the HOhm. The mod was about $70, the battery about $20, the atomizer and the coil about $40. But hell, I would spend that in a month for cigarettes.

When I quit smoking cigarettes, it took about 2 weeks before my lungs cleared. Once they did, I no longer had breathing problems during heavy exertion. After two years, an x-ray of my chest was nearly normal. I smoked about three packs of Camel studs per day for 30 years, so my lungs will probably never show as completely normal. Because Glycerin and Glycol are sugars, my blood test show a higher sugar count than most, but not diabetic.

If you want to stop smoking, a quality e-cig will help you. But if you never smoked, you probably should not vape.
