I guess I'd like to formally suggest to the staff & to the members an official Black Hat World Podcast. As someone who frequently listens to a wide variety of podcasts, I'd love to hear a semi-monthly (or monthly) podcast involving different, respected members of the internet marketing community. It would be really interesting to hear the different ideas, methods - or just daily lives of several successful internet marketers.

Podcasts, in my opinion, are still one of the most popular forms of discussion on the internet. With over 800,000 members, a Black Hat World Podcast could be an instant hit if executed properly.

Structure:

- I think an effective structure of the podcast would be one host who would Skype (or call) in with several different guests each episode. Could be one-to-two episodes a month to start off.

Pros:

- Getting the entire community involved
- Put names to faces (or voices)
- Additional revenue through ads/sponsorships
- Give more life to the forum

Cons:

- Host?
- Interest?
- Qualified guests?
- Time zone differences

Content:

- Interviews and discussions with major/popular BHW members, internet marketers, and online icons.
- AMAs (https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/ama-section.788141/) - This never happened, and it should be up for reconsideration, too.

Would any of you be interested in seeing/listening to something like this? Or am I the only one? Let me know what you all think.

Wait, we actually did have a section for that! It may have been removed, but let me see if I can find it.

Update: I can't find the section, but I do recall there being a couple of threads in there. One of the first threads in the section was called "An AMA with BHW’s T0mmy" and the first post said the following:
Further to the AMA nomination thread for T0mmy ^(http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/bhw-ask-me-anything-ama/799397-vote-aam-bhws-t0mmy.html) the follow questions have been put forward. We await T0mmy’s insight.
1. Do you have an offline source of income?
2. How you Started Your Journey?
3. When did you have that breakthrough moment when you realised this living on the internet bullshit might actually work for you?
4. Why do you live in spain? Why not a 3rd world country like costa rica like other SEO experts?
5. What’s your secret to success?
6. Which Day You Realized I Made It?
7. What are your plans for growth/business goals over the next 12 months?
8. What essential advice would you give to a noob just starting out?
9. Did you know about SEO and marketing before you joined BHW?
10. How to you maintain a social life?
11. What has been your biggest challenge to date?
12. What is the best/worst business advice you have ever received?

BHW’s first AMA – what would you ask?

BHW will be launching a number of AMA (As Me Anything) sessions soon. If you have a BHW member, respected internet marketer or just someone who is nailing it in the industry then post a thread in this section with a link to their BHW or linked-in profile and we’ll reach out and see if we can get them onboard… Read More about AMA
It was unused after the first couple of threads (possibly due to a lack of interest from the community), which would explain why it was removed. Though, I can't say this for certain.

I think that's a fucking sweet idea. I'd definitely listen to this as well. Go on a walk and throw it in to learn new parts or niches.

Normally I would rather scratch my ass with a razor blade than listen to a podcast. That has to be the most boring form of media ever constructed, right next to memes and Snapchat.

However, for BHW, I would make an exception.

Mostly bc I want to hear a lot of sexy accents. I'm looking at you @Ste Fishkin and @t0mmy.

How dare you talk about memes like that.

I could only imagine that a BHW Podcast (if done properly) would also boost sales to UnGagged & other BHW sponsored functions. But yes, it would be a lot of work for the staff.

I love this idea, but I strongly feel like someone doing a podcast would run out of interesting and innovative shit to talk about after 4-5 episodes and revert to rehashing the same old garbage you see on all the SEO blogs.

I agree that potentially could be a problem. You would truly need a great host to make something like this work.

1 good show a month would be really doable, but idk about making it some type of official bhw thing

@IGKing A few years back, i was in love with Podacast, when i used my iphones. Exactly a year back, i thought of creating a Tech podcast that covers information on Tech startups and meet ups that happens around the city. I didn't take them seriously.
I would be one among the subscriber if this happens.

YEs, I agree. This would be good.

And as you stated, a good structure.

Monthly would be awesome. Do something quirky like have it release on the 14th of the month and call the podcast The Fourteenth By BHW or something.

Cap it at an hour, and have it be minimal, no advertising, no shit-tastic intro music or five minute explanation of what it is.
  • Minutes 1-10: SEO news for the month
  • Minutes 10-30: Something like a dual member discussion. Have two members here working in similar niches come on and discuss things related to their niches and scope of work. I'd love to hear two points of view on a single topic to get double the insight in the same amount of time
  • Minutes 30-45: An interview with an esteemed member of BHW with a list of questions similar to what @hekke used to put out
  • Minutes 45-50: Five tips and tricks gathered over the course of the month
  • Minutes 50-55: The MVP (most valuable post) on BHW for that month-period
  • Minutes 55-60: Five minutes from Damien
