GMB Checking out your competitions category

GMB SEO and checking out your competition's categories.

You can check the main category by simply looking at the competition listings.

But what if you want to see all of their categories?

You used to see them by clicking on their page but Google now only shows the main category.

Now you used to be able to click "Suggest Edit" and it would show all their categories but this also was updated to only show the main category.


So you will have to find the competitor you want to know categories and search the business name and add G+ at the end.

This will pull up their G+ page which should be linked to their GMB page.

Once you see their listing click on the "About" tab.

Now you can see the map and sometimes a couple categories left click on them and it will pull up their categories.

I was testing out BlackHatWorld, I have used it in the past but since the takeover of WF I have been expanding to new forums and this was a test run I have modified my WF post and left the good copy on BlackHat.

GMB Is "Google My Business" AKA Google Places, Maps, Google + Local this is the 3 pack results typically sometimes 2 pack etc.. so each listing is categorized which this method shows you what your competition is using as their categories. You can use keyword planner tool to analyze keywords.
