I just stumbled upon this and saw many ppls asking about dmca takedown notices and such.
People, google offshore servers/hosting.

Yeah, good method, but with time, it requires more and more work since Google is removing pages. Unless you have social or other traffic, it's harder and harder to make it work.

just for the people who are saying this is too much work, there's a few sites that are well known, and have millions of visitors per month, and guess how much do they make? close to a million in a few months.

Today i received a mail, i transleted this with google translator:

Blogger has been notified, according to the terms of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), where it is reported that some of your blog content may violate copyrights of others. As a result, we have reset the post status to "Draft". If we had not done it, we would be subject of complaint for copyright infringement, regardless of the validity of the complaint. The URLs of the allegedly infringing post are listed at the bottom in the email. This means that your post and any images, links and other content have not been eliminated. You can edit the post removing the content in question and republish it. At that point, the post will be visible to your readers.

Some background: the DMCA is a United States copyright law that provides guidelines for online service provider liability in case of copyright infringement. If you believe you have the rights to post the content at issue, you may file a counter-claim. To present it, go to https://support.google.com/legal/contact/lr_counternotice?product=blogger.

The notice we received will be posted online, with your personal information, from a service called Lumen at https://www.lumendatabase.org. This measure complies with the requirements of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). You can search for the DMCA notice associated with the removal of your content into the Lumen page by entering the URL of the post of the blog that was removed.

If we become aware that you have republished the post without removing the content / link in question, we will delete it and count it as a violation on your account. Recurrence of violations of our Terms of Service may result in further remedial action taken against your Blogger account including deleting your blog and / or terminating your account. DMCA notifications of blog content can result in consequences for the associated AdSense account. To If you have legal questions about this notification, we suggest you to contact your legal counsel.

Best regards,

The Blogger Team

Would anyone be interested in a movie / tv streaming software? I am considering putting mine for sale but trying to see if there's any interest.

It is a script... that lets you setup your movie streaming site very easily ... automatically fetches links and data from imdb.. with a nice modern responsive template.

you haven't Answered my second question

Some of you who post in this thread regarding the laws, different jurisdictions. It is obviously you are 100% clueless.

you do not host any files on your own servers. you link to video hosting site. Put a DMCA page on your website stating this.

You are then putting the legal compliancy on the hosting provider for the videos. Most of them have a policy that if they are made aware of copyright violations they immediately remove the video in question. They don't actively seek copyright issues without being informed from a company or a viewer of the videos.

If they remove the video. wait a day, rename the video and reupload it. Then embed the new code into the same movie page replacing the old embed code. Bam, done and the video is back on your site.

Don't you worry. NL is a perfect place to do this kind of stuff.

As far as embedding or linking to the movies it won't make a difference. They are going to complain anyways if they find it.

There is also almost not 1 host having problems when you use a VPS for uploading movies.

I am also from The Netherlands and i'm working on a project like this. I even am going to host my own movies on my own dedicated servers ( hosted at a company though )

Unless you have 1M visits per month, you have nothing to worry about, NOBODY will go through the legal trouble to get pennies. Secondly, keeping in mind that you might eventually end up with that many visitors, when you register the domain, use bitcoins (after mixing, this isn't complicated just google it). Because domain is the first thing they go after. Once thats a dead end, they'll look for the ip that you are using and then they'll try to track your payments on that IP (i.e vps or hosting). So i'd also suggest, use bitcoins when paying for hosting. Once that's a dead end, they'll look for the email you used. Also the ips you used to log in to the hosting account as well as the email account (provided that you used fake names and details for everything). So i would suggest that you use tor browser to log into these accounts and never use any other browser.

Needless to say, all this is required if, you can more than 5M> visits /mo. or your alexa rank is <15K. If you are not that important, it's gonna be fine. don't worry.

I would also like to apologize to all to whom I could not reply. I became very busy with my life lately and haven't gotten time. Hope this helps.

Yes you are right. They CAN and they WILL track you down by your affiliate network if you ARE IMPORTANT enough. It would be very secure if you could get paid by bitcoins, but no good network that pays well per visitor does that. However ad center doesn't seem to have any issues with this niche.

Trying it from US is a BAD BAD idea. US has severe surveillance on everything. Bank accounts, credit cards, phone records, purchases i could go on. So if you are from usa and if someone wanted you, it's just only a few clicks.

I am sorry, but can all of you be quiet and never ever speak about laws, what jurisdiction would be the best, DMCA, how to stay anonymous etc?

All of you who try this "amazing method". Be prepared to either have a law suit on your ass OR get a vacation to prison (FOR FREE! ;)). Do you really think a funny DMCA-page stating you basically have nothing to do with the webpage and all you do... is providing embedded link....Will help you out of trouble? Hahaha. This got to be the dumbest tip I have ever read here. You are profiting from copyrighted material, in a country that has signed the Berne convention among lots of other agreements to protect the work of artists, companies and so on. Whats so hard to understand?

It doesnt matter how much traffic or what your Alexa rank is. Nor does it matter where your website is hosted since copyright cases is a bit more complex than this. Stop spreading this nonsense which you have taken straight from your ass. Where did you even those "x visitors and you are safe"-numbers from? Posting it like it's facts.

What you need to do is to get an anonymous bank account or get your payouts from ad-networks via bitcoin. Besides doing exactly everything else anonymously of course. If not. Well, then it is just a matter of time before you will get fined. If there is an on going criminal investigation you can bet your sweet ass that the affiliate network you work with WILL (and have to) hand over exactly how much you earned on your "criminal activity" (a prosecutors words, not mine, i love piracy), personal details. bank info etc.

TL;DR: If you think its hard to track you down or that a stupid DMCA page will save you from prison (never laughed so hard hahaha, basic law lmao)... I wish you all good luck. Dont come here crying if it happens tho.

100% Agree with you. Usually they FOLLOW THE MONEY.....

What a self righteous prick, it,s not what you said,it how you said it, to the members.

When the world has to choose between clinton or trump to run the world's economy, don't carp on to people who are trying to make a little coin.

Yes this method infringes on copyright, but as other member s have said there is always a work around.
Ensure your persona doesn't lead back to you, that's if your making long term solid money from it.

I would suggest giving yourself this as a project for a 20k start up fund for other projects.

back to the prick!!!!

Up yours clown and take that pretentious attitude with you.

My first infraction in 7 years, but what a condescending fool he is

I'm not easily impressed, but you did it!

I don't hear of many people making this level of income from nothing.

Proof to everyone out there that you do not need a dollar to make good money in IM.

I love a good rags to riches story. Best of luck.
Nice
