Microsoft / Bing and their dirty attempt for private information.

I have an outlook.com email address - rarely use it. Mostly for a backup if I forget a password to something important. Which happened. So I try and log into outlook.com and get told my account has been suspended because, now get this:

Another email address that has f 'all to do with microsoft or outlook.com was blacklisted for spamming.
Because of that, they want my phone number to reopen this outlook email account.

The kicker is - that email address they are referring to and the only way microsoft would know about it existing- is I used it to register for Bing Webmaster. That's it. I sure as hell dont use a personal email address to spam anyone.

Now if you read my bio - I am in pharma. Guess what, here's a surprise: I never even started an email spamming campaign - Nor do we plan to.

I know I can use an online phone service like Text Now via VPN and get my email access restored.

But I think this all stemmed from when I signed up for Bing Webmaster I typed in a B.S. phone number.

How dirty of them to accuse me of spam from either my domain or my registering of Bing Webmaster. Using a backwards way to attempt to get my personal info to call me up and spam me with their own partners and SEO bullshit probably.

Best of all, I did registration of this from a VPN.. and their emails come to me written in spanish...LOL. Ninja edit: And no, my email address is not mentioned on the website.

I did a check for my domain and I come up clean.
Eat a d#ck, Microsoft.

To ask a question out of this - has anyone heard of Bing considering all pharma sites spam?

Clearly you have not received enough emails with titles like BUY V1agra CHEEP!!! and G1V# Y0UR W0M@N S0M# @CT10N T0N1GHT to understand the problem with Pharma and spammers. MSFT, unlike other tech companies like FB and Big Brother G, doesn't believe in "secondary use of PII" or selling your emails unobfuscated to marketers. It's for your security they ask your telephone number, not for reuse. It takes reading the EULA to know this, of course, and since no one (except security experts) ever does, we lose our right to privacy one gmail email at a time.

As for typing in a BS number, they generally ping you back to ensure that you are who you say you are so they can protect your privacy, so if you didn't provide a real number quite likely you've solved nothing at all.

Take a moment to read the instructions to verify this, but I assure you, this *is* what you will find if you do.

I disagree.

Because I never started a spamming campaign from that domain. They dont know me from any of the top legit pharma companies out there. They cant just assume because the website's content is one thing that I must be painted with the same brush as the others that plague the internet.

An email and the file you need to put on the server they confirm with is good enough for acceptance for the Bing Webmaster system.

I think they read cookies on my computer and grabbed whatever email address they could and made it ominous enough that anyone would just accept their challenge if they want their outlook.com email back. Surprised it wasn't my gmail.

I moved on.. done with outlook.com - going to simply use another email on the domains I own. So long microsoft meta-data teet suckers.
