Review copies are over anyway. The site is well-established and part of Google news. It's been around since the early 2000s. I'd say that it would give your site a lot of authority. I'm pretty sure it won't rank your site instantly -- it's more of a long-term thing. It also won't get you a huge amount of traffic. I don't think you should buy any SEO or backlinking service until you understand the basics of SEO.

My advice is to fill your site with quality content (probably 30 informational articles). Each article should be around 400 - 600 words because Google likes that range. Don't copy blogs from other sites because Google checks for duplicates.

After you have quality content, then you should consider backlinking. But my gosh do not spend on SEO services if you have no idea what's going on.

No because it's not a spam site. I looked it up from here http://lionzeal.com/pbn-guide/#What_is_a_PBN:

If the backlinks are from a link building tool, chinese anchor texts, thousands of blog comments, only directory listings, etc. Then it’s a bad domain.

The site has none of these.

I'm not just jamming links into posts. I'm writing news and carefully inserting links.
