Scrooge warning............

It frustrates me every year when it comes to Christmas time and everyone seems to grind to a halt - examples:

  • I have ordered display advertising from a couple of websites - put in a firm order over the phone and they said they would email me invoice etc. Not heard back for few days.
  • Asked for information on a new product for my IT Support Biz - they were going to email me details, pricing etc. Not heard back.
Some other stuff as well but I won't list everything (Note to mods - I am waiting for BST to go live but this is NOT one of the things I am referring to so please don't think this thread is about that - I know you guys are super busy all year around so I expect to wait a while for that stuff).

I love Christmas - love spending time with family, eating, drinking etc. But on the head up to Christmas I still try to be super-responsive to my customers and especially if I got any new business I would be straight on it.

Just wondering about you guys - do you take time off for Christmas or do you keep going as normal?

I don't wanna be that guy that gets back to his desk after a week of eating pork pies and getting fat only to discover while I was warming my toes in front of the fire, my competitor was hard at work blitzing my sites.

This year actually I am not even going home (I am in a different city for Uni). I have too much to work and study :( (Med School).
But better times will come for sure, I can't just deny I have a lot of work to do right now and go home and rest.

Happy Holidays Guys!!

Yea I feel ya. Same thing here.

Shame that you are away from family, that sucks. But if you are at med school then I guess you have to work hard and its going to be worth it for you in the long run.

Because I work from home (Like a lot of people here) I can spend time with my family BUT like you @hasa1015 I don't want to fall behind my competitors so I will be working through.

I'm gonna take a week. Chill out, take a quick look here and there on my sites and don't worry too much.

I'm not oficially taking time off, I'm just gonna attend stuff with family and friends and then keep my work relatively normal.

Christmas Day, I usually try to stay off the computer and try not to think about business but nearly always fail.
Do take it a little easier but still can't help myself.
The good thing about taking a break, it gives a little time for the brain to rest and that's when some great ideas usually come to me.

Same, but I almost always end up checking stats on my phone or something

As i just started IM and i worked hard this year i will take 2 days off for Christmas and 2 days off for New Years Eve.

Well, as a content writer, I decided to finish my existing orders and take new orders from 25 to 30th and then a rest 'till 2nd or 3rd of January, depends on how drunk I will be. However, I wouldn't say that I don't do anything as I'm starting a clothing project in the next three days and i'm planning an e-commerce for the new year.

Basically none. Just lowered the work load a little bit, so just regular 8 hours a day work days. It's enough to take a break and despite the fact that these days are a cucumber season when it comes to business, they are still clients who need the services so. Passive income for the win in this case.

In that case why don't you take break more often? Maybe once a month, more great ideas.

If you're taking new orders, email me, I've got a batch for ya man.

My awesome boss gave us the option to take off from today until the 2nd of January without it being considered "time off". I'd get bored very fast, and I like my cubicle, so I'm in office today, and opted to take Monday and Tuesday off and a halfer on Friday to prep for New Year's.

For ORM, I ordered some dripped in backlink packages and told all my clients I'll be reachable but not working from now til New Year's. Let the links propogate and keep the wheels churning in the meantime.

One evening for family - money and work never sleeps, Christmas is for kids, serious guys dont stop works and projects because of santa, cookies and pies
