for a few days now I've been trying to scrape expired web 2.0's for wordpress.com websites, I've done it so far with tumblr and weebly and found some success, however when it comes to wordpress.com I either find majority (90%) of them being still alive even though a lot of them have the most recent post from 6-7 years ago, as well as I come across a black screen that tells me the blog has expired and they're contacting the owner 'before it's too late!!'
To scrape web 2.0s i'm using scrapebox, I managed to scrape about 150K websites then I used the alivechecker to narrow it down. I've so far checked hundreds of domains in my browser and all of them come back as alive even though scrapebox says they're dead.. on top of that the ones that ARE expired are not re-registerable? Every time I try to register a domain it always gives me something like the following example below
say the domain is coffeekings.wordpress.com it'll ask me if i want coffeekingsblog.wordpress.com
is it still even possible to scrape these domains? do they even reissue expired domains? do they even expire?! im so confused
