I just started a site in a niche I am very passionate and knowledgeable about, and it also has little competition other than obvious big stores.
I started the site last week and at the moment it is getting around 25 visitors a day. I also created an instagram account for the website and got a nice logo made for the account.
I was advised to use fiverr social bookmarking gigs such as "do Manual Social bookmarking upto 200 sites PR 9 to 3 with guaranteed Index" for every page on my site.
I now fear that this was a bad decision as I'm sure the links will be terrible, considering the price and will likely hamper my PR rather than improve it, what do you think?
I also have implemented some PPC advertising using Bing Ads, just as a kickstart, not sure if this is/was a good idea, but it's nothing major.

Basically what my site is is a 'one stop shop' type marketplace, thus bringing in many of the best quality items from my niche, to one place. I think the concept is good, but in actuality, to buyers, it might just look like a crappy affiliate site. Also, because of this concept, I am putting various affiliate links on most of my pages, usually as clickable images or "==> CLICK HERE" texts. Is this not a good idea or?

If anyone has any advice on how to improve my starting tactic, that would be greatly appreciated. Like should I be building .2.0s related to my niche myself and including links on them, rather than paying fiverr gigs? Should I be creating new FB and twitter accounts and sharing shortened URL's to my site, is this a good way to rank?

Sorry for such a noob post, any advice (and abuse in this case) is appreciated.

Also, just a disclaimer. I'm not one of those guys in this to 'MAKE MONEY FAST ONLINE', I actually have a passion for the niche and believe it can benefit people if done correctly. Thanks again.

If i were in your place i wouldn't spam my sites with social bookmarks in the site, leave it for a few weeks. Blasting soo many wsocial bookmarks will just make it look spammy ( thats in my opinion ) Instead, I would slowly build few web2.0. I would also stay away from Fiverr tbh.

"It will likely hamper my PR" PR is dead mate, its useless now.

For starters just look to invest in FB ads to people interested in your niche or buy shoutouts on Instagram/Facebook you can use Reddit too!

For SEO, just concentrate on ON PAGE seo and read few OFF page seo guides here on BHW but dont rush anything.

Yeah I think you are right about social bookmarking, particularly with the fiverr gigs. But it's too late now, they're ordered haha.

As for the Web 2.0's, obviously they should be specific to my niche. But can they be standard WordPress domains. and how many posts should I do? Sorry if silly questions.

I will definitely look into Facebook adverts and shootouts for sure. Especially if your site is linked on a popular social media account, that has to be good for page ranking right?

But yeah, I'll keep it simple since, as I understand, you can make money without being page 1/2 on Google. But obviously the dream is to eventually get my site onto page 1.

Thanks for the help dude!

Don't worry about messing up. You'll learn and improve. Just keep doing the action part. Always be testing. Just do it and test it and see if it works. IF it works, then keep doing it. If it doesnt, then stop.
Good luck to you.

Yeah man you're right. I'm a complete noob so I know mistakes will happen. But I am keen to learn and have been studying SEO and affiliate marketing religiously the last couple days, excited to make progress. Thanks dude :)

You can use standard wordpress, tumblr and other web2.0 and make 2 posts, 1 linking to a famous site and the other post linking to your own site.

A few social bookmarks wont hurt your site, although i won't do 200 of those links for every page.

Dont worry too much, most of the links probably wont even be indexed.

First of all congrats. Its great to find someone with your mind. Step by step taking the "long" way is always the short way to success.
I think a lot can be done with Facebook traffic & your project.
Have you try any type of advertising with Facebook?

Thanks man, and yeah I agree. I have set up a facebook advert yeah, it has been getting me some decent traffic. But still no conversions, people are clicking on my links which makes me think it's just a matter of time, but still waiting on that elusive first conversion haha.

IMO dont jump into PPC with out any knowledge.Dont become zero to hero in one day.Every one failed but at last they achieved success.Start from scratch ,read the forum regularly ,you will automatically know what to do

Jaja I see.
Keep pushing. Try to use conversion pixel. That will bring you with time the right traffic to our site.
Thank you.

Is it possible for you to wait to put up ads? You should split test if people stay on the site longer without ads (probably), and consider removing a few until you get a following.
