Interesting. I have an account in the cars niche with 105 000 followers, engagement rate is about 3500 - 5000 per post and the account is 1 year old. Everything is manually grown also, so a bot / tool has never been used. What would your evaluation be? Cheers
From numbers and engagement alone, it looks like a fine account. But, I'd have to take a closer look at the statistics. If you want, PM the account info.
Many here get confused with high follower count and engagement. For example, a 1 Mil account with 10K likes per photo, may not be as good as a 100K account with 2K likes per photo.
How is that possible, you may ask? Likes don't mean crap to a Brand/Advertiser, if the follower does nothing else but "Like" the photos. Do they go and visit a web page that the "account" is promoting? Does the follower buy anything from that account?
There's meme, humour, babe, tatoo and other niche accounts with 500K+ followers and 20K likes per photo, that do nothing else but that. Follow and like.
I always recommend accounts to test their followers. I work with brands.
How do you test your followers without being spammy? Ask them to visit your website or another website for which you have access to Google Analytics. Simple right? You'll be able to know how many of your followers came over from Instagram for that particular day or days.
Another way, is to have a friends or another IG account, and ask your followers to follow and like the other account. That's it. Simple. Now, don't send them to spammy IG accounts. Send them to a "regular" looking account. After that is done, you'll know if your followers do what you ask.
With the numbers above, you'll know what your followers do for you, and how much power your account has. Engagement or followers on your Instagram account mean nothing, if all they do is just follow/like your photos and nothing more.
