Good place to start relating to your goal.
If you're young and have the bare essentials taken care of, spend your time instead of money. LEARN your tactics inside out. A strong foundation now makes everything lightning fast later, trust me. Patience sucks but it's rewarding.
For niche sites in my limited experience, it's all about searching (I enjoy https://www.spyfu.com) for lucrative, decent traffic keywords. Next comes content, links come last. The better the keywords & content, the less links you need to rank and earn. Longtails are your friend. This is an investment, put in the time and you will bank big in time, you have plenty of it.

Let me ask you.
What is your method of driving revenue? CPA, Ad clicks, Amazon sales etc? The guide is perfect for Amazon, but driving traffic doesn't involve ranking.
