Forgive me if you were being sarcastic.. but £35 isn't "top dollar" - especially for a strong domain.

You're asking for a:

- niche/location specific domain (plumbing/London)
- TF 25+ (despite the recent update)
- RD 50+

A domain with the above requirements is going to cost you a lot more than just $40. A lot more.

P.S. If you were being sarcastic, I apologise. If you weren't, well, I think you need to re-evaluate your expectations.

really great article, with a lot of good points.

For me there are 3 main take-aways (boosted from personal experience)

1) If you are doing churn&burn ignore whatever the seo gurus say and go black hat all the way

2) Most Services on the marketplace are utter crap. Worse are the so called "guestposting services" where the only difference is, that the PBN is public (from my experience 95% percent of the guestbosting sites didn't even have a social media account, ONLY guestposts, with the most unnatural links.

3) Scoring backlinks is not a big science. Sure it's work, but maintaining a PBN is so much more work and buying these links will gain you little in the long term.

They are not cheap though, if you expect to get a quality post for $20 - think agian. But for $100 upwards there are some good links to be had from real blogs.

Ahh, a kindred spirit . But on a serious note, some people do expect everything for nothing. They expect the metrics, and quality content, and the ranking, and for someone else to do the job, and as an added bonus to pay as little as possible for it.

A friend of mine had this phrase framed and put up on the wall in his office:

"We can serve you QUICKLY, CHEAPLY and to VERY HIGH STANDARD. Pick any TWO options"

The same applies here.

Jep...that is what i meant. Sorry, should have been more precise. There are real outreach services (and some of them fake charging the same price) and these come at a steep price. The standard "guestpost" service for 10-30 $ per guest post are usually just a PBN (tho admittedly sometimes still do their job).

Personally speaking, paying 800 USD for a link on Huffpost is great if you are extremly lazy, untalented or your time very valuable. But other than that, it's comparable easy to score the link yourself (if you know what you are doing).

Actually here's a true story: A couple of weeks ago I submitted a guestpost to a site. The girl in charge liked the post so much, that she also used it for one of her huffpost submissions. In the end i had 2 hours of work writting a little something, 1hour editing pics, zero pitching (as it was through a guestpost group) and 2 natural high authority links.

You are totally right about the expectation part. I sold expired domains for sometime and I used to get inquires like I want tf30+ domain in $10 and so on. That's one of the major problems.

Yeh, something like that. TF30+ for $10 wouldn't be a problem, but expecting it to have RD30+, THAT one is a huge utopia. But we can't expect people who are new to all this, to have realistic expectations. They do not have the knowledge or experience we do, so we have to be patient. I have been using this thread as a kind of "reality check" for new people who are trying to start with their own PBN, and it's working just fine. Saves me a lot of time explaining it to every new client.

I think the "utopia" problem isn't related to PBNs only, it's a general one. Many newbies think they can build their personal "press button and make money while you sleep" system with a few hours of own work and a few hundred dollars in cash. Time for

It is the same with other services as well link they are saying we do Manual submission of Web 2.0, blog posting, social bookmarking etc. i am just paying this thing to check it is working or not and I found something free about PBN.
