I am interested, a quick question though:

Has anyone yet been deindexed by Google? I would think the footprint on this is huge.

actually, I'd bet that the footprint is the same as the BB footprint... kinda like spamming with WP, the footprint that's there actually improves your shot at SEO... I'd think anyway :)

Yup. We've never had a site de-indexed because of FG, but we're also not spamming the same URL thousands of times. As with any other tool, you have to use it wisely.

Yep - you are correct - it is the join dates - which you have to admit - does look suspicious when everyone shows the same join date, since they are getting added first, before any posts show up. But I am also seeing where just about every post in a sub-forum will have a "same date" format as well, which corresponds to the date I set up the forum and provided the keywords for it. I have been adding subforums to mine as I come up with new keyword lists, so, the initial subforums will correspond to the join dates, and the subsequent ones will show their creation date, so to speak....I will pull together some screen shots and send over to support.....

Thanks -
Michael :)

It's an interesting point Michael (I'm also an FG owner). But I think there could be legit reasons for having lots of users with the same join-date - like if someone changed BB system and mass-imported the old users, for example? The posting footprint may be easier to spot, as it regularly creates 1 or more posts every minute (timed by the cron job). It might be worth mixing these up a bit at some point in the future, but I wouldn't imagine there are enough installs out there yet for G to start noticing it. Cheers, bobski

Does this work on Hostgator (from anyone's past experience)?

Thanks, I am very interested, and I plan to buy within the next week; I just want to have everything setup so I can hit the ground running.

Does this work with one database for all sites ? Or do you need to have a database for each forum?

We've received reports that HostGator is beginning to stop one minute crons from running, which will effectively break FG, so we do not advise using them. We're in the process of negotiating a hosting contract specifically for FG users. We'll post information here when it is available.

FG uses the forum's database directly. Thanks for your interest.

just bought FG. The videos are well done, but it would be appreciated if you would include a readme.txt with file permissions info and install instructions for experienced uses it is a pain to wade thru the video and write down notes

Thanks

Good point - i actually had considered the issue of mass importing. Really, I wasnt seeing this as that big of a deal, just a concern cause I really like this product!

The newest version we're about to start beta testing takes care of this issue which was, admittedly, a bit of an oversight on our part. With that said, we haven't seen any sites get slapped for the date issue.

Very cool... will existing users get this upgrade for free?

I wanted to chime in and say that I purchased this software yesterday and used it to to add a forum to an existing WH site. The software is simply amazing. I didn't even hope for it to be as good as it actually is! The posts read perfectly and replies are on target... it blows my mind :) It looks exactly like a real live forum. The only issue I have is the user join dates mentioned above, but that's not that big a deal, and it looks like it'll be fixed soon anyway :)

The config is amazing too... you can make it populate a forum exactly the way you want... start fast to get populated and the slow down.. whatever. It's great - WELL worth the price IMO.

Yes, users will get the upgrade for free. Thanks for the kind words.

I gotta say this is amazing stuff. I've never seen scraped content this accurate for keyword searched... and come out so readable and genuine

Well Done blackhatzen!
