Yeah, but it's pretty well known that engagement drops the larger you get.
I see accounts in my niche with 100K+ followers who get less likes / comments than I do.

I used to get a consistent 4-6k at the same follower amount when I had the url bug. after that i dropped to like 2k now i get 2.5k-3k avg
so im still recovering

kkkk but my engagement melted ... it didn't just dropped even when I post an outstanding quality pic.

how long was the period of time when things went downhill? was it instant or slowly you went from like 1000-850-600-400-300?

is your niche very small or is it a big niche? what it could be is that someone in your niche has targeted your acc because it had good engagement and they are botting your followers and recent posts following ppl who liked your recent pics. someone in my niche has been doing that and i know because my real life friends follow my acc and the other guy followed them as well so he had to have been botting my followers and recent posts
this is def happening, a friend also bot my account.

so basically someone is siphoning all your active followers from your acc. i dropped to 2k likes from having an avg 4k what im doing is im going on bigger accs in my niche and following ppl who like their recent posts and its been working im at an avg 2.5k now and i gained almost 800 followers in a week. that might be slow but its good cause its free and certain
but i dont think this is the many reason for the drop

I noticed a drop on many of the accounts that I was botting about 2 months ago. Now they are recovering. So, it depends on what Instagram sees.
Some of the accounts were liking 600, following 300 and unfollowing 200 in a 12 hour period. Other accounts were doing 2X-5X that amount. So, it was not for being too slow or long delays, or going too fast.
By the way, none of the accounts were doing comments.
There is something that Instagram notices during botting that triggers account delays/temp ban/loss of likes/followers/you name it.
And, we are also seeing that some manual accounts are getting these temp bans in likes/followers.
I hope someone here that works at Instagram can shed some light on this, and not the typical "it's the algorithm".

Did you switch to a business account? I've heard from several sources that they've seen engagement drop significantly once they switch to business (probably IG starting to get businesses work harder / pay to play to get into users' feeds). Maybe try shutting off business for a week and see what happens?

11K, was getting 2K on many images, then started to drop, now I barely get 1K, dont know wtf is going on, but hope this works itself out in the next few weeks.

It's not switching to business that causes your engagement drop.

I beg to disagree. There have been stories on here of people noticing a change and switching back.
I have also seen several accounts 100k+ do the switch back too. Coincidence?
@Trolling4Dollars I'm happy your business accounts are going good but thats just your experience.
It doesn't take a great leap of imagination to think IG are throttling business accounts to make you pay. Just look at the history of Facebook.
OP just for kicks switch back to a normal account for a few weeks and see if anything changes...

Of course it's my experience - that's why I shared it. No two journeys on here are exactly the same. That should be a given.
