When I had 5k-10k followers I could easily get 1k likes for a random post, one of them got more than 50 comments, my top post is 2.6k likes all natural while I had less than 10k followers. Now I have 22k followers and my posts, which include hashtags and have good image quality, barely gets to 300 likes and a few comments. I have never bought any fake followers by the way.

Any one experiencing this? It seems my followers have all turned into zombies.

One thing I noticed looking at Instagram Insights is that Impressions never gets above 4k and reach 3k, even though I have more than 22k followers.

What's going on?

thanks for taking the time

thats def not the issue. timezone was always the same and most of my posts are on peak hour.
i repeat im talking about a shift from 1000 to 300 likes with double the followers, it's a disaster.

Because instagram is changing up their algorithm.

yeap I know about that but still doesn't make much sense because my followers have voluntarily chosen to see my posts, so why show the post to just 10% of them?

Is that what FB did to drive ad revenue? I don't know squat about Instagram but wouldn't the idea be the same?

At first I was going to say the pre-holiday slump, calm before the storm type stuff, but it sounds like you have looked at your data pretty closely and you feel it is platform driven and not the actual behavior of your followers...

not the first time i've seen this happen, I believe it's all due to the folks behind instagram messing with the algorithm to lower the view count, and drive up ad sales.

very annoying and messes it up for everyone, I preferred it to when posts went in to your feed in a chronological order

Are you botting the account, or all manual?

If its botting, try to slow down your tasks. Less likes, follows/unfollows/comments, etc., per hour and more delay in between each action. Do this for a week. Try with a 50% cut from what you were normally doing.
You'll see that after 1 week, everything starts going back to normal.

Now, if its manual... I got no idea, other than the canned reply "it's the algorithm", for when we don't know what the F is going on with Instagram.

I'm experiencing this as well. My personal account with 2-3k followers would get 350-400 likes per post, now I'm reaching 10K followers and I get 100-150.

So, are you botting, or everything manual?

I thought I was the only one experiencing this. I used to have 3000 followers and my average like were 1500-2000 but now I have 6000 followers and my average like are 300-600.

It's definitely has to do with instagram algorithm. Will try to slow down the task on followliker and see how it goes

I was botting hard level but also had some periods of no bot activity in between. Anyway, I will try what you say. Why do you think botting would influence Impressions and Reach?

are you botting?

22K followers here & consistently get ~2000 likes / 100 comments per post.

are you botting? can you check your impressions and reach?

I'm doing a test. I'm botting my own followers to see if I can wake the zombies up! Let's see if this will improve my next post engagement.

In my personal experience with different accounts, I've noticed that botted accounts get hit hard and limited by Instagram. I still don't know what it is. As some of the botting is very slow, and other accounts go twice as fast. They all get hit the same.

Just saying it's the algorithm, as a catch all phrase, is a disservice to everyone. How is Instagram discerning between a slow botter and a fast manual user?
