Why do people try to make their PBNs look "real"?

I mean.. I understand if you make your PBNs to be real sites, on one topic etc but why do people order custom logos, create social media pages etc to their PBN sites to make them look "real" and then have 10 "real" looking sites that all link to the same money sites.. I mean.. if G worker checks out these PBN sites then he/she will see that they all post to the same 10 money sites - that in itself is a huge footprint and all the other stuff doesn't matter.

Imo it's just waste of money and time - either make them into real sites or just post the links in articles and be done with it.

What are your opinions?

Ya they link to the same site. How is that a footprint. A footprint would need 2 or more simular things in each pbn. If you get 10 real links from real sites. Each 10 of those sites are linking to the money site. It's not a footprint.

But about making the sites look real, you have to remember Google is checking the fuck out of every site. Even tho we all give Google shit they are getting better and better.

If you think you can slap up a large PBN with all free themes that look like free pieces of shit you WILL get fucked. Making a site look real is not just for manual reviews but for the 200+ things Google checks. The less red flags the better.

Plus people with big/good PBNs pay A LOT of money so spending the extra time and money to potentially save your multi thousand dollar investment is worth it.

I will show you an example: I have 100 PBN sites. I have 5 money sites. I link to every one of those 5 money sites once from each of those 100 PBN sites I have. Is that a footprint? Fokin hell it is a footprint. You may link out to wikipedia and one or two other websites, but if you don't want to get your OBL over the roof, then 50% of the sites you link out to from your PBN sites is the same. Not to mention, that you PBN has random articles from different niches. One is about shavers, one about juicers and another one about testosterone boosters. That's his point.

But is it worth it? Is it worth the time and investment to make the site look super hardcore real? Can Google algorithm recognize good looking site from awesome looking site? I don't really think it can. And I don't really think that premium theme, custom header and 2 links to authority sites make the site look real at all.

Oh and yes, I had a 5K worth PBN which got deindexed eventually, but it wasn't because it didn't look like super real.

When your competition flags the crap out of you, you can look as real as you want when "Google police" comes knocking at your door. And whether it's worth the money or not to invest extra time and money to make your PBN sites look better... that's subjective. I am sure that with long term projects it will help some people to sleep better at night.

Linking 100 pbns to the same 5 money sites is retarded. That's probably why your pbns got penalized. I only link 1 pbn to 1 money site. If had 100 pbns I would probably link to multiple money sited but I would mix it up and not link all 100 to the same ones. Maybe 30 to each money site

Yes, that was one of the reasons. It was a PBN for churn and burn projects, so it didn't matter and I was very well aware of it. The ROI was there and that's all that matter at the end of the day.

However, we are still talking about sites looking "real" primarily. Not to mention, that what I did is quite a common practice with 90% of PBN providers here on the forum. Not sure why there isn't more emphasis put on this fact. There should be a big letters for newbies on every marketplace PBN sales thread with some warning.

I'm not talking about normal looking site but like Nargil said, you have 10 PBN sites that ALL link to the same 10 money sites you have. Even if you add random links to wikipedia and other stuff.. the footprint is screaming in your face. Also.. I see so many people linking to "authority" sites.. = every post has a link to wikipedia.. which in itself is ridiculous and not natural at all.

You don't link to the same 3-4 money sites. Some of the pbns will link to money site 1 and 2, some will link to 2 and 3, some will link to 3, and 4. But I still stick to one pbn per money site

Sticking to 1 PBN per money site is the best thing you can actually do. However, newbies just starting out rarely have budget for that. Still, for long-term projects, I wouldn't do it any other way than 1:1 ratio.

^This. As tempting as it is to save money and use a PBN for multiple money sites, it's just not worth the potential risk. If someone is short on funds, they should focus on building out their PBN slowly. The money will come. Once it does, they can scale.

The only exception that I would ever make to this is if I have multiple money sites that are in the same style of niche, such as Toasters and Microwave Ovens. Even then, I would only cross-link a handful of times.

Precisely this. What I am seeing lately is, that the the overall niche relevancy of the website, not just the article itself, makes a huge difference. That is why I can see smaller niche sites with less links and maybe even worse onsite SEO outranking bigger multiniche sites with huge authority. I am seeing it all over the place the past few months. That is IMO also one of the reason why Sape doesn't work at all.

- Sape kind of link - not contextual at all, no niche relevancy, link from museum site, linking to dildo site, next to a testosterone booster and skin care product links - 0 effect
- Multiniche PBN - Conextual and niche relevant article, non niche relevant website (content wise) - Decent effect
- Purely niche dedicated PBN - Contextual, niche relevant website - Best effect evur

This is not a rulebook knowledge, it's just something I've been experiencing lately, others may have different opinions on this.

There are 10 real websites, they are all linking you back, hence that's the reason why people make sure that their PBN is looking as real as possible to ensure it looks very natural.
