How can I recover from Google Thin Content Penalty?

Hi, I have a small site based on a gaming niche. After quite a lot of hard work, I had setup the website and it ranked after 5 months. I was earning around $3-5 per day but suddenly when traffic started picking up, I received a manual actions notification. The details is as follows -

Google had detected thin content on your site that provides little or no added value. This critical issue results in irrelevant or low-value search results for Google Search users and can negatively impact your site's ranking. Therefore, Google has applied a manual spam action to domain.com

It says I need to significantly change the content and submit a reconsideration request.

What will I do guys? The site is a small site with 11 pages. Is it better to start with a new domain and add even more content like say 20?? Average content size right now is 500 words with proper images and videos!

Rewrite the articles, get some fresh, unique content, increase article length and then go from there.

Note the words in bold.

Rewriting is the foremost solution, but not the only solution. Starting again from the scratch with a new/aged domain and fresh content is almost the same as rewriting content for a penalized site then following up with a reconsideration request (especially if you have to redo all the content on the penalized website).

When rewriting, focus on adding meat to the article (it could be stats, OBLs to other authority sites, quotes from authority figures), structure the rewrite better than the original, and increase the length (add more information). To put it simply, your focus should be on making the rewrite [far] better than the original, rather than just switching words.
