Hi.

I got this block from Google Adwords keyword tool where they dotn want to show me exact average monthly number of searches. They show from-to numbers (examp'le 1K-10K). Of course, with this I cant do much.
Anyone knows how to solve this and when this started cause it is new for me

Google are huge cunts. They claim it's due to "abuse" which is obviously complete bullshit.

Don't even tell me Google servers can't handle the requests with their infrastructure

The only reason they did this was to get more people to spend on AdWords. I heard if you spend something like $10k+ it tells you the exact amount

You are right, first they told me i need to start a campaign. i started campaign (that I really didnt need) and this morning I wake up to "you reached the maximum number of page views..." .

What is that? They want a BJ now?

No they want you to spend thousands on AdWords to be able to look at a simple statistic. I bet the code to limit how precise the stats are takes a bigger toll on their "abused servers" compared to just showing the full stats itself.

Trouble is what is the alternative though. Google have had the monopoly for too long and nobody has been able to take them down.

Isn't this rather counterproductive though, surely if people cannot research keywords BEFORE starting a campaign they would be reluctant to spend cash???

Well I suppose most people used it to do keyword research and not for adwords, and now Google only wants you to use it if you pay them.

What Google is doing is highway robbery and extrotion don't pay
them any ransom money.Tell Google to fuck themselves they don't rule the internet.Go to different traffic sources.

You know that, I know that, probably even Google knows that but surely anyone who was planning on spending substantial amounts on adwords would want to at least check that they are using decent keywords in their campaigns first.

So that rules out my idea to maybe start a useless campaign that will rarely see clicks just to access the keyword tool!!!!!

Basically Google do not want anyone playing with SEO nor backlinks anymore since they cannot monetize if everyone starts to manipulate the ranking. Cannot really overcome this unless you do not want to rank on Google. So keyword research for SEO is currently stuck because the data source is no longer sharing information (Google). If you are a genuine advertiser on adwords, you get limited views on exact search volume but it will not be useful enough for you to get meaningful data mining out of it for SEO purposes.

One way that I thought would overcome this is to use multiple adwords account with an ad spend of $1. Can buy multiple vanila pre paid debit card from USA to do this. Setup about 20 -50 accounts and you are good for keyword research. Idea sound stupid but that is how Google makes life hard for people like us. Still an option worth considering.

Totally sucks ass.

Oh you must not spend enough to have the privilege to see that data ;)

"Advertisers with lower monthly spend may see a limited data view in the Keyword Planner. For example, you may see values such as 0, 1-100, 100-1K, 1K-10K, 10K-100K, 100K-1M, 1M+ in the average monthly searches column. In addition, other advertisers may trigger the limited data view by reaching a limit on the number of searches for search volume data."

What about using Bing's Keyword research and estimating google search volume by using a factor that is equivalent to the difference in search traffic?
Should work better than the "1K-10K" bullshit

2 options:

1. Spend more on Google Ads.

2. Sign up to a KW research tool that works even after this 'update'. I currently use Keysearch and everything works fine. You do need to pay monthly but paying $20/m works out better than spending thousands with Google to get the full data.

No because different demographics use different search engines. No teens use bing. So for example kw best school laptop

Bing would have ex 400 searches and Google would have 20000

But kw for example best cane

Google would have 400 and Bing would have 2000

We will soon face come Captcha thing to use it more frequently, such a pain in the ass

Thanks Leith for that recommendation. I imagine a lot of SaaS providers are wondering what's going on unless the data is the same
from a developers point of view. How lousy of Google to limit data like that!

And add the fact that their Analytics shows most keywords as "unknown" or "no source" and you have a giant pile of nobody knows where their traffic is coming from.

The GKP has had problems with accuracy for a while now. You can try that "review plan" option with Google Trends, but I'm not even sure how accurate that method is.

I like the second option that @Leith provided, so I'll probably give that a try after a month.

As a side note, @bartosimpsonio has been calling these pushes toward Adwords for years.
You've caught on to MC's landmine strategy. That's a great first step : knowing that Google is out to get your every penny and force you to buy adwords.

Welcome to BHW and glad you took the red pill.

Hey OP, no worries, I have all the data and metrics you need on those search terms:
