I'll try to gather some accounts who've lost a lot of followers.

I totally agree, however it is interesting because now those who have bought them (and profited under false statistics) are getting exposed.
Again, not sure if it's a real purge but from what I've seen yesterday many accounts have lost quite big amounts of followers (and likes, comments, views).
Will try to gather some accounts to show here later today.

Yeah, I know some pages 1m+ that lost 20k "followers" in one day.

I have gotten some less serious accounts of mine banned yesterday. They were never used to sell followers but they didn't really play entirely according to Instagram's rules.

I had a client lose 600 followers on a 20k account randomly today so possibly a small one.

Goodness 20k I'd be pissed.
haven't seen or been around long enough to see people loose that many followers in a day.
I've seen my friend the other day she lost 3k in a day went from 630k-627k fast she messaged me pissed and all, I have heard that this will keep happening. Instagram is purging all fakes.
Correct me If I'm wrong please.

No, you're right! IG has always been banning fakes, and they do it every day. It's just more critical when they hit a popular provider.
Here are the examples I quoted before:
I can guarantee you that the second guy that has only "5.654" loss was at more than "20.000" loss at the beginning of the day. He just bought MORE fake followers in an attempt to lower the damage (as you can see by the fact that the day after he was surprisingly able to gain 5k+ and recover from his loss).

I don't see how this is relevant. If you care for pure stats (meaning a high follower count), you can always buy more fake followers for a dime or two.
Chances are, that (if instagram is heading more in the direction of facebook), these accounts will actually benefit from dropping the dead weight .

not at all. Open up a new public facebook account and wait a year. I guarantee you will have 200 new pakistani friends without paying for them. Most fake accounts try to maintain a reallooking profile, so obviously they like major accounts as well.
anyhow - i'd agree it is of concern - but no major dealbreaker. If you were to loose 50 Percent of your engagement over night..now this would be different. At the end of the day any campaign has to show results - that's what matters. From my experience that is all advertisers really care about *shrug*
(if this were to go on and on..well then we'd be talking about something different)
Yes, I was gaining 10k followers a day and now its down to like 2-3k. I look at my follower count and its rapidly moving up and down. This must be a purge.
For the record I have never bought fake followers. Secondly 3 of my other accounts have lots a lot of new follower momentum but their engagement is really good. 25k+ likes on a 300k page

ive only lost follower on some of the fake accounts, nothing more than 2K
