First off, in japan 90 hour work weeks are common. Workers often wake up at like 7 a.m and work till 1 a.m ...wake up at 7 to do it all over again. The Japanese have a word "karoshi" for working to death. Secondly, women outside the west are practical. They are smart enough to realize that traditionalism is female privilege not oppression. As long as men are dumb enough to agree to an arrangement where he does virtually all the work, while she gets to spend all the money (the wife pays the husband an allowance from his own wage) why not?

If I was a woman in Japan I want to get married too. Its a good deal from a financial perspective.

I'm sure it is bollucks, but the stat exists none the less. It was even posted in girls bathrooms all throughout the 90's and 2000's before it was recently discredited. The fact of the matter is, most information you hear, especially related to gender and race, has been exaggerated. Both in the West and in the Middle East.

The reality is, the majority of women in places like Saudi Arabia and the gulf states are perfectly fine with their gender role. You see a law preventing women from driving, they see a law that gives them the privilege of being driven around everywhere. In the less stable and wealthy Arab states life is shitty for everyone, regardless of gender. Being disallowed from working and made to stay indoors is actually not such a bad thing for women who live in a war-zone believe it or not.
