My Amazon affiliate "newbie" journey

Hello all,

I have some success with kindle books that allows me to try a diversification of my revenue.
Ok an amazon affiliate website is not really a diversification, but I wanted to try, as my IM skills are now pretty low.

So please considers this journey as a freaking newbie journey, I wont give back lot of useful info to the community, but if my journey and my mistakes can help in any manner, I'll be happy.

Oh, and please note, I am not native english.

Ok, so from where I start ?

I already have:
- a host
- a keyword (bought here on the market place)
- selected 10 products

What I have to do (Mandatory):
- to find buyer intent keywords and long tail keywords (I'll use the Alex Gould method)
- to register a domain
- to find an affordable wordpress theme
- to buy 1 main article (2-2.5k), 10 product reviews articles (around 500 words), 3 product review articles model comparisons in the same brandmark (guys, I am not native and I will never reach the writing skills of a 12yo kiddo, so I have to bank.)
- to find my amazon affiliate login/password and set it up for US/Canada/UK

What I have to to (Optional):
- to create a PBN (I could buy post at the beginning)

Yep, I really start from scratch.

So I found buyer intent keywords and long tail keywords with very low results for allintitle: and allinurl: (average 10 results, sometimes 0, highest PA/DA 10/10)

I found some keywords with much more results (around 400-500) with PA:20/DA:5 for first page results - I will not use them. I am focusing on keywords with really low results allintitle/allinurl and PA/DA < 10/10

For Amazon sites you should get a clean theme without too many fancy stuff around which can distract readers. I use several including genesis theme, Sample Child Theme.

today I started to read articles about "how to construct a PBN", found two methods to find expired domain: first one is based on expireddomain.net, the second one based on website crawling by parsing google search results (5 years ago).

I started to do some experimentation. Here is my process:
- Check DA/PA, if > 15, next step,
- Check CF/TF, if > 15, next step,
- Check archive.org to check if it was a spammy/click farm website. If not, next step
- Check backlinks, to check if it's spammy/hacked back links. If not, next step
- Check if the domain is flagged for spam.

Did I miss something ?
Do you think that 15 is enough for DA/PA/CF/TF ? or more ?

may i ask where you are from?
in this forum i read alot about people writing huge main articles like you with ~5k words and i wonder if it really is that good.
for me (german) it would be too annoying (in a customer view) to read such huge textes, i would want the information to be direct and short, in a few sentences.
and i believe most germans do think the same.
so i wonder if something like that really differs so much from country/culture to another.

Well, for me all my long articles 3k+ are about different stuff in 1 article, so my readers will most likely only read the part they are interested in.

The long articles that you talk about (3-5k) are divided into sections and subsections with bullet lists. And there's usually a table at the top of the page that allows them to select which sections they wish to read and which ones to skip. Google's happy and readers dont complain either, as long as its quality information. Helps them avoid visiting multiple websites to source information from.

I'm french
I think that the main article should be 1.5k long: What to Look for in / Things to consider before buying / Price Points for; and product reviews articles between 3 to 500 words each.
But yeah, for me it's pretty long. If I am looking for a product review / product comparison, 300 words is more than enough, often I just read the pros/cons.

In order to avoid that, I'll construct the main page in this way as

http://3topreviews.com/

A short paragraph if the reader doesn't have time to read, then a top 5 products, then the rest of the article.

Now that all the plans have been done, it is that time that you roll out your thing. be ready to be recording every step of the journey because it will help you just reflect and see where you have come from. It will also act as a motivator to even worker harder and smarter. We always grow through the expriences we go through daily.

Once you are done with your site building and close to done with content. I highly recommend that you get into building your PBNs.

They will be the main source of your ranking (hopefully) and if you do it right, you will have a ROI.
