There will always be blackhat methods to hack traffic. Algorithms are computer based, these have rules but there definitely will always be blackhat methods that work. PBN's worked like a charm with my sites. Also still use manual linkbuilding and blast SER links to tier 2 definitely works

I don't know why you assume BH is dead. It's alive and evolving over time, but it's best done by experts who can come up with undetected methods and fly under the radar. So if you're someone looking for a clue from others, it won't work anymore.

Stopping PBNs would mean they only make links from sites like Forbes count. This would make the Internet a horrid place and give big corporations full control over who ranks.

There are a few ways they can stop generic-filled PBNs, but that would mean we just have to build them in a different way.

Not really, penalize links from sites with low traffic or shti sites with shti content or etc etc. And yeah there'll always be a way to go 'blackhat' it just won't be profitable enough to bother with (imo)

The method you said will never be implemented, it's as simple as that.

Traffic doesn't equal quality. Traffic is a horrid quality metric and the easiest of all to manipulate. Google would never use this metric for detecting quality links.

Not directly but I doubt theres many legit 'quality links' knocking about that come from websites with 100 visitors/year. Cba with this pointless argument anyway, was only a example. I've no idea how they'll penalize pbns but I'm sure they will within a couple of years.
What you going to rank with after that happens? You'll be down to 'white hat pbns' which I fail to see how anyone profits from and some blog comments and a couple of web 2.0s if you're lucky lol

This is very true. The UK Google actually kicked off the whole pay day loan update that affected about 2℅ of queries. Cutts called them spammy queries but what he really meant was most profitable! Finance queries have much higher defences I've always seen. However on the UK Google a black hatter is still ranking for a £45 a lead search term with a massive 301 and supporting pbn. So black hat is far from dead

Not really, I can think of plenty of other ways to get 'sneaky' links but none are anywhere near as profitable/easy/scalable as pbns, I don't even bother with anything blackhat other than pbns and blog comments now, the comments are only because I'm constantly looking at sites in my niche anyway so may aswell.

Its not about whether blackhat will still 'work' to me, its if its more profitable than the whitehat alternative and in my opinion it won't be once pbns are done
