a targeted niche vs a authorotive website

i have been thinking about this for a while now and i'm really looking for advice here , i will REALLy appreciate some help , thanks in advance !!!
What is the easier site to rank and make profit of from these 2 sites :
1/ a broad ( authority type review website ) , on somehow big passion/hobby niche , the competion is medium. ( i can easily write good content for the website , and get some traffic from social media as here are a lot of groups in the niche ) the good thing about this option is the niche is huge , but not a lot of people have a product review website for the niche i'm targetting
2/ a small niche website for specific keywords , i can go for, EDM domain , but there are no groups for these niche , so its mainly SEO , the competition is low
which option is better !!! i'm really confused !!

it depends dude , if you want to see fast money and you are in need to see fast resutls then go for a niche targeted website, if you are looking for a long term website and want more money in the long term go for authority it all depends on you and how much money you have right now , but it depends on many things.

Agree with @Ronald2000, You will need more resources to make any impact in your authority website's niche. You should answer that question best yourself !

Specific niche helps more to get profit than other. Because if you have a powerful niche, which means get more traffic say 100k per month will gain more profit. So my prefer is work with a specific niche mate.

Creating an authority site is a HUGE undertaking. And it will take lots of investment in both time and money. If you're up for the challenge, then go for it! But if not, it's best to just start small and create a solid niche-targeted website. And as things build, you can always expand upon it and scale it up to a large authority site should you choose to. But in the meantime, you can be the authority source in a small niche. You know... "The Big Fish in a Small Pond".

However, if you can do the '2' and spend time researching deep into it, then that one is also a good option.
