[Case Study] Can I Reach #1 Through TUMBLRS?

Hey All -

This will be a case study to see just how powerful Tumblrs are, even after the recent changes and the neverending skepticism about how Google is changing its algorithm, forget everything you know about SEO etc...


I'm currently on the first page through good SEO and very minimal backlinks (just web 2.0s), so I'm going to see if I can get the top spot. No other links will be built.


And if it works to get me from the bottom of the first page to the top of the first page, surely it should work to get you from 100 to 1 as well.

Just tumblrs. Site is a few months old

I built web 2.0s a few months back, and I do keyword research/backlink research. 70% of the job right there.

Very minimal use of exact keywords. What I use as anchor text depends on the keyword research.

Respectfully disagree, but even if it was, anything that works for an easy keyword would work (to a lesser degree) for a harder one. So it can still be used.

I don't see how that's possible. Maybe you got some links from some authority sites naturally

You guys are really focusing on the wrong thing.

ACTUALLY just learned something from this!

My web 2.0s arent picked up by the major crawlers at all (i didn't know this) so maybe in a few months ill send some GSA backlinks to them. Despite this, it seems google has found a few them which explains my movement the past month. But I've done nothing else.

I have sent 20-50+ links to each post but none of them rank top 1-2. I've tried my best for onpage SEO but I don't know what I'm doing wrong, you seem to be doing things perfectly in terms of onpage SEO perhaps you could help me out when you have the free time, sent you a pm

Sorry! My only goal here is to show BHW whether or not expired tumblrs have the power to bring you to #1. Not interested in becoming a guru/opening a BST/etc etc.

EDIT: and everything I know about SEO I learned on this forum.
