[Case Study] Can I Reach #1 Through TUMBLRS?

I really need some teaching.

I have sent 20-50+ links to each post but none of them rank top 1-2. I've tried my best for onpage SEO but I don't know what I'm doing wrong, you seem to be doing things perfectly in terms of onpage SEO perhaps you could help me out when you have the free time, sent you a pm

I hope your casestudy works because I usually do 5-10 tumblr's for each low comp KW/article I post. It usually gets me to page 2 with some edu links as well. Then PBN post boost me to page 1 (though some KW's are being stubborn with me). Now I'm trying to get to position 1-3.

I'm interested to see what tumblr's alone will do though! Following your case study, best of luck OP!

Thats why you are in the fist page with just some 2.0, you got a really good authority domain :)

Respectfully disagree. This was back when I didn't really know what I was doing as far as domain metrics goes.

Again, you guys are focusing on the wrong thing.

Something is fishy though, I've never been able to rank with onpage SEO alone like that, hell even on my current project, even with web2.0 + few pbn links + some blog posts with good metrics and can't even rank top 3 for several 200-1000 MS keywords while doing onpage SEO like everyone tells you to (keyword on title + desc + 0.6-1% keyword density + 700+ words articles).

Yet you rank for 1-5K MS keywords with onpage alone.

The links that domain must've had either are very strong or it's due to the age, either way I'm not sure

I don't know what to tell you. Even going through my post history you can see that I'm clearly learning more about SEO, and just recently got more serious with PBN building for completely different sites/niches. My most successful period was on YouTube, not even SEO:

I throw a lot of things at the walls and see what sticks.

To answer your question and spoil the surprise, yes expired tumblr-s (and most other web 2.0 platforms as well where you can restore dead blogs) DO work! But most of the time, they are not enough to rank you #1 only with those kind of links, especially in med/high competition niches.

Got my Tumblrs. Will be posting 200-500 words of HANDWRITTEN (Dragon Naturally Speaking), ORIGINAL content related to my keyword. Each post will contain an image, and I'll link back to my website somewhere in the first 1-3 sentences.

I opted to not try and get niche related for EVERY single tumblr this time around.

Update:

Posted content on 11 tumblrs, 100-500 words each + pictures and varying anchor text. Unless someone else has suggestions, I'll send these to an indexer service on BHW once I'm done making the other 10 posts.

I'm confused, your picture above says you're starting with an expired domain that already has 101 external backlinks, how is this a test with only Tumblrs? Am I missing something? I'm not a science major but starting with 101 previous backlinks isn't ranking with only Tumblr's.

Keep in mind dude make sure they have a high amount of referring IPs -- not domains.

If you re-register a Tumblr, the backlinks from notes and reblogs will disappear if a domain has the Tumblr CMS.

TF 10+ is what you should look for, with 20+ RD (IP)

I'm currently on the first page through good SEO and very minimal backlinks (just web 2.0s), so I'm going to see if I can get the top spot. No other links will be built.

Will keep in mind, although I've started to care less about TF and just more about RD.

UPDATE:

Already movement, at least one of my tumblrs must have been noticed already.

Will probably bounce lower in a few hours. Majestic and Ahrefs both have yet to pick up any of the tumblrs, however. This is 11 (handwritten) posts later.
