Has anybody else noticed this from last week that likes on posts have been slashed 30% on instagram account? My 2 of accounts are suffering from this problem and since last 1 week engagement has been dropped in huge percent.

i am posting the same time which i used to post before.

dont cry because 2 posts get less likes .....

Yea lots of people have noticed this since Wednesday. They seem to be making algorithm changed every week. The week before this one was crazy high engagement and this one is extremely shitty engagement.

Thanks for the reply. Good to know i am not alone :)

Yes, likes dropped with 100%. Seems to be going back up as of yesterday though...

Yup, been experiencing this and it's very frustrating.

Has anyone thought that maybe they are cycling accounts on purpose. Bringing some down and some up to bring up fresh content?

I actually hope that's what they are doing, but I doubt it. My guess is the point is to limit accounts so they buy advertising, or people realize there is no consistent way to build an account organically, so nobody hires managers or tries themselves and just buys advertising

It's very weird, I used to get 1k+ likes on my 30k account. Since the updates and all I sometimes get 600+ likes, but rarely hitting 1k since then. What the fuck is going on with IG?

Yup, FB reach is extremely shitty, it makes people buy ads to reach their customers. All according to their plan. I just don't hope IG is taking the same road as FB, but it probably will. FB is owned by IG and they see how much more income they got when limiting reach on FB pages so what stops them from doing it on IG too? Greed. And if I would own IG I would do the exactly same if it would make me a few more millions per year. Reality.

TOTALLY unscientific experiment here, so take it for what it's worth - but I was curious about engagement, IG ads, etc.

My engagement dropped a few weeks ago, too. Much like some of you have described. I decided to run an IG ad for a week to see how it worked. During the period of time that I was running the ad, my engagement went back to normal. Now that the ad has stopped, my engagement has gone back down.

Make your own conclusions.

Is there a similar correlation for account growth?

Because I have 10 accounts in FL and each one of them has been kicked in the nuts lately.

I will have to try again & watch growth. I was in the middle of unfollowing while running the ad, and my growth always slows when doing that.

When making the IG ad, did you get a good amount of followers or was it just likes on your post? And what do you choose you the action button?

Didn't pay attention to followers. Like I said, I was in the middle of an mass unfollow so my numbers were lower than average. I used "watch more" which linked to my IG. I also added a comment under the photo to the effect of "blah blah blah sales pitch - click my avatar to follow"

I was really just curious about the process of placing an ad. I'll do it again & pay more attention to followers.

Noticed a huge drop in engagement since a couple of weeks ago. By huge I mean a consistent drop of about 50 percent. It is actually quite frustrating having grown so much and now getting engagement of around 5 %. In fact I have pictures that hit explore while my account was at 1k that got twice as much likes as I get now, two years later O_o
