[Journey] from Zero to 333 USD a Day

Sounds like a good plan. It definitely helps to get started then funnel out what doesn't work as you go along, than to wait until you find a "perfect" niche only to fail and get dishearted.

You got this! I can't wait to see how this goes :D

True :) Thank you, I feel like I won't disappoint

if you ever need help with instagram social media feel free to message me .

thank you @bigkitty420, took a note on that :)

Good luck, I'm sure you can do it :)

thanks for the vote of confidence, it really helps

Update #1 (2 days since last update)

Hi guys,

So here is what I have done so far:

  • found the cheapest possible hosting to start with (it's 0.01$ with free domain registration as well, i mentioned it here if any of you guys need something similar to start with)
  • found a wordpress theme which I think fits best my vision of what the site will look like
  • took a while to play and get a feel of the theme, tweak it and pre-polish it ready for content publishing
  • installed first plugins (Contact Form, Wordfence Security, Akismet, Exploit Scanner, Yoast SEO, Pretty Link Lite) also the theme I chose came with some other plugins required for it to function: Slider Revolution, Regenerate Thumbnails, Custom Sidebars and Slider Revolution and some social media ones)
  • wrote the About and Contact pages, also found and adapted some Terms of Use and Privacy Policy pages
  • created Instagram, Pinterest,Twitter and Tumblr social accounts (I will also setup Facebook and StumbleUpon later on as I plan on using SNAP plugin when publishing content)

Next steps:

  • write about 20 articles to fill up the site with for start
  • link the social accounts to the website
  • learn everything I can about optimizing my website for it to run as smooth as possible
  • start growing the social media (for this part, at this stage, I won't be using any automation tools, everything will be done manually)
Looking good so far. Probably going slower than i should, but the good thing is that I am on a really steep learning curve by playing with all the tools and researching for how to make things work best.

That's about it for now, I'll jump right into the next steps and update here when done.

this is similar to what i wish to do and yes

first I will pick a niche start writing a blog post about 20 article (yes very important to post every day)

pick a null-ed theme (your site need to look like more professional)

you may put everything in place start working social media and put your site unfollow first until get high audience and then let the scraper visit your site after putting a high quality back-link (Google will love your site )

don't forget to post every day

Best of luck man, I'm sure your experience with Upwork will pay back dividends.

Good luck with your journey and don't forget to think about ways of monetizing

Good luck in your journey. Your English is quite good, you don't need to worry about that. If you have enough means to support yourself while you are doing IM, and you keep at it, I am sure you will eventually succeed. I see also, that your work ethic is good and am sure your freelancing experience will aid you much in your journey. Best of luck!

P.S. You may like to choose an avatar, looks better than empty square on the screen :)

that's what I'm aiming for, the first 20 articles will be so that the site has some content for the first visitors (I don't want to disappoint them :) ) and then I'll try to have at least an article a day ready for publishing + social media engagement on my part

I will be following your progress, good luck mate!

thank you, will post regularly, 2-3 days between updates

thanks, I hope so too :)

thank you, I won't, how can I forget the main purpose of the journey :)

Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot to get some pep talk along the way.
Changed the avatar as well. I think you were right :)

Hello BHW,

This is UPDATE #2

I had a sudden change of heart regarding the theme i chose for my site and probably wasted an entire whole day looking for something that looked cleaner and simpler but still avoids that 'cheap' feeling to it. I hope it was worth it.
Completed so far:
  • I have written 20 articles, unique content, good quality, proofread them etc.
  • Started growing 3 of the social accounts and after 3 days I brought them to the following stats:
    • IG: 1012 followers, 2932 following / 58 posts (I think I overdid with the IG account growing safe rules, I'll try to stick to a more conservative approach from now on)
    • Twitter: 397 followers, 2794 following (really slow moving)
    • Pinterest: 394 followers, 1874 following
Also, I took a look in some of the IG journeys here and I am really starting to consider investing more time in growing some accounts as this seems likely to bring some good rewards in the long run. I can feel the days of my first earning are closing in, maybe with some of the first $$, I'll invest in growing some IG accounts. Not sure tho.

Still doing this journey mate?

Hi, yeah, I'm still at it. Not sure why I haven't updated the thread tough :)
I changed the game plan a bit and I'm working on it 8-9 hours a day. I'm starting to get good results and I'll post them here very soon.
