Thing is, when I first joined BHW in 2014, I was a complete noob, in all likelihood just like any other newcomer. That is to be seen in my old replies... which I really advise you against, haha.
Unlike the vast majority of you though, I would only come here to read threads about successful people who banked big, all the while completely avoiding the information that really mattered, which was, obviously, how to make money as they do.
A lot of time had passed prior to actually making my first dollar online (a whole year to be more specific), but that was because I was daydreaming all day about doing that, owning that, investing in that. One day though, out of the blue, this very blunt and cliche thought struck me: "Oh, man, I really need to take action!" which, really, was the only mindset I needed to approach as you'll see.
When I did make my first dollar online, it didn't come as "$1", but as "$50" which, at the time, although now it doesn't mean that much to me anymore, skyrocketed my self-confidence and helped me make a lot more in a fairly short time span.
Okay, okay, we see this kind of threads all day, but how did you make money anyway?
To be honest, I didn't and still don't make money off any of the methods here. While some if not a great deal of the methods you can find here are indeed dazzling and very well thought out, I'm not into such long-term commitment. To me, making money online was and still is mostly a pastime, so in order to keep a healthy balance, I decided to become an itinerant writer.
Oh, great, another writer. Aren't there enough of you already?
It's true, there are lot of writers, be they experienced or just starting out, but this is where BHW actually helped me getting started: The Marketplace.
When I stumbled upon that very specific section, I noticed the immense demand for content and the cold cash content writers advertising there were making. So I thought I'd try to take hold of a big slice of the pie, too.
Thing is, if you take the "content writing" path, you must find ways to promote yourself. It is not enough to just register an account for some forum, coin it "BestWritingServices2016" and expect clients to roll in. You must not take the path of least resistance - it's all about getting your hands dirty in the beginning, for you to eventually wash them up with expensive soap if you're into that.
So, what I did was to create a "content writing" website. At first, it looked deplorable because my lack of experience was obviously showing, but it gradually got better. In a matter of a few months, I finished the site and was ready to start promoting myself. I won't go into detail here, but I can however tell you that the very first visitor that saw my site hired me the next instant for a pretty good rate at the time. Truth be told, I was inspired to create a site for me to promote my content writing services by a BHW user's thread that, to my shame, am unable to find right now. When I do find it, I'll update this thread.

The total investment for creating, designing and launching the website amounted to a total of only $100.
There's almost $1000 only in this screenshot, which is not bad for 3 hours of work per day at most. Seeing that there's so much potential in earning money on the Internet, I'm actually planning on making it a full-time thing, but still have to give it a thought.
Okay, you made some good moolah there, I guess, but how can I make some, too?
You might have already been told this numerous times, so I really don't want to stress it too much, but when the experienced users here tell you that "it's all about you!" they wholeheartedly mean it. Nobody will ever spoonfeed you, because that actually somehow defeats the purpose of you coming to this forum. If you need quick money, play the lottery. If you are in need of money that bears the fruit of your painstaking work, that you can take pride in later on, stick to the reputable methods around, or better yet, create your own. It's not just about earning quick money for you to retire, but also to feel comfortable in your own skin... that to someone, you're actually worth investing in. Nothing can beat that feeling.
At the end of the day, it can all be narrowed down to what you're capable of providing for a fee. Prior to becoming a writer, I actually gave it a lot of thought, analyzed my writing skills and area of expertise appropriately, and it turned out to be a fruitful approach. Do NOT obliviously venture yourself in the unknown, as you may find yourself absorbed in an inescapable vacuum. Research is the key to progress.
If I managed to make big money in such an oversaturated market, you can have some, too, undoubtedly.
I have written all of this for three reasons:
1. To keep me motivated to earn even more;
2. To motivate the newbies here that find it too hard to earn their first dollar online;
3. To thank BHW - duh!
On a separate note, I would like to apologize for contributing little to no information on BHW, but I'll try to be more active if possible.
I'm planning to keep you all updated on my further progress as I rake in good cash, and if you have any questions about my journey or just want to say hello, do not hesitate to shoot me a PM. I'll kindly respond to everyone.
