I have a basketball page that's 8 months old, when I first started the page I didn't think it would do anything so monetizing it was never even a thought. The page is up to 84K followers now, and engagement is pretty good, some posts just do better compared to others.

I'm not sure how my followers would react to monetizing the account since I have never tried anything.

Sell posts on it. Charge extra $/month for a pinned post at the top!

Start off with Amazon affiliate. Sell everything basketball related. Then track what sells the best and begin drop shipping. Wouldn't hurt to content lock some basketball related eBooks. Get "Dribble Like Kobe" for free! Normally $20 value. Just complete my lil' survey first :)

If you are concerned about that then just make sure to keep the advertising very targeted to the topic of your site, and don't overdo it as to how many ads per page and how much screen real estate is given over to advertising.

As @BassTrackerBoats suggested being an affiliate for BB related products might be good choice. You could also try something personal like promotional products to create a brand for your website. There are a lot of print on demand services to sell things like tshirts, coffee mugs, mousepads, keyrings, etc. with your own artwork, brand and logo.

thank you all for the replies, these are all great ideas, I'm really thinking about all these ideas.

One thing that I do know from looking at the insights part on IG, the biggest percentage of followers are, males, 18-24, from New York.

I'm not sure what to do with the numbers for impressions 557,516 and reach 234,618. I understand what the numbers are but how do you use them strategy wise?

Those are just analytics for your account. You need to think about what your audience likes and then sell them it.

Btw, how'd you grow to 84K in 8 months only? Thats pretty insane growth

I did all the basic strategy stuff that everyone knows, tweaked some things depending on what I thought was working. Also put in an insane amount of time, I don't claim to know anything special. But the hours spent just trying, is what has been my biggest thing.

For me growth is easy, monetizing is a bigger challenge.

For me it's the opposite. I've been monetizing 5K+ follower accounts NP.. doing thousands already.

Be happy to get you to monetizing your page if you give me tips on how to grow 10K+ a month.. i've been doing what everyone knows but my growth is only around 4k-6k per month

There's some high converting offers on click bank for basketball such as how to increase your vertical jump which your followers may be interested in.

Other than that contacting other BB suppliers and offering them a shout out would work

That would be good, you can message me and we can talk about it.

What i think is strange is nobody ever asks for a shoutout at least a paid one, i get a ton of people begging for free ones. i see people on here talking about doing shoutouts at 10k followers. not that i think 84k followers is a lot, i plan on getting a million.
